With the amount of scam projects, using the cryptocurrency platform, these social networks are distancing themselves as far as possible.
Although most of the rumors are unconfirmed, it's effect on the value is obvious.

In all countries, they become lawful. Let's hope that fraudulent projects will be less. Then the crypto currency will be evaluated.

Bitcoin continues to be pounded by negative news. Unconfirmed reports about Twitter following the footsteps of Facebook and Google in banning cryptocurrency ads pushed Bitcoin’s price below $8,000 on March 18.

I think they are afraid of BTC that's why they are banning and they want people to get away from crypto currency. Because they are no powerful currency like crypto currency. Other thing is that they would of view that crypto currency is not regularised by govt. agencies, although they are not following all other govt. rules. They only follow those rule which are in their benefit.

well this thread seems to have outdated answers, but as on 26 June 2018, ad ban on facebook has been lifted https://techcrunch.com/2018/06/26/facebook-reverses-its-crypto-ad-ban/

also the ban hasn't served much greater good to public neither the ads had any effect on the quality of projects so the news is junk keeping in mind bitcoin's market price & its underlying tech & philosophy.

Mostly because it's so many ICOs and not many of them will actually succeed,  plus it's all full of scam projects that never even intended to develop a project after they take the ICO money. So facebook, google... don't want to be those that guided people to those who would take their money. Sure it's unfair for good projects but their time will come anyway.

I strongly believe that this speculation will not happen as both sites are on 100% support in cryptocurrency market and i think this is another speculation trying to destruct the image of bitcoin.
I don’t know about Google why they banned cryptocurrency ads, but I have heard that Facebook is going to launch their own crypto in the near future and that’s why they have banned other cryptocurrency ads on its site. I think it is not good because Facebook is the biggest social media site and the internet user will use Google for searching. They can promote crypto effectively.

Facebook has revised the full ban on advertising cryptocurrency. pre-approved advertisers will be able to post content about crypto-currencies and related topics, except ICO.

From what I read online they were all banning cryptocurrencies because the rate of scams that are being done with cryptocurrencies were increasing everyday, so they decided to stop it. They said that they might start to allow it again on their platforms but we don’t know when it will be. But whether they ban Bitcoin from hedge these social platforms or not, I don’t see where or how it will affect us.

Even then it is not good to be ban, they should not be afraid of small and miner issues on market, it is normal happening for us, facebook and google are basic sites that most of people use for exploring bitcoin, it is best place where most of information people use to get about crypto investment, I think even now google and facebook at playing vital role in bitcoin promotion.

I would like to think this way because there are some laws of every country and every state, may be the laws of some places where these sites are located and banning some advertisements is only to avoid legal pressing, they are not banning the entire crypto currency but only scamming website are being ban buy then but it could be just a news as there is no fine explanation has been released from facebook or google till now so just be positive.

Indeed, simply they banned bitcoin because of increasing rate of scam and we know that these sites like facebook and google are just protecting themselves for these malicious doing. We cannot blame them because I think this is right thing to do so we should accept the truth. Moreover, I don't think that is has a direct impact on the fluctuation of bitcoin, maybe on demand perhaps.
