I guess you weren't alive during the early days of the internet.

As you can clearly see we destroyed the internet when we found out criminals were using it to distribute child abuse pictures amoungst themselves.

But honestly, I am sure some country will use this as an excuse to do what they were going to do anyway, which was try to ban crypto. Banks especially are itching for any excuse to stop the future.

If you read the article most of the stuff is just links to darkweb sites that have child abuse pictures on them. Maybe we should figure out how to ban the darkweb first?

Since bitcoin was created, there has been bad news about bitcoin. We are used to the bad news. Many countries now openly accept the legitimacy of bitcoin. I think there will be more countries accepting bitcoins in the future, so bitcoin is not illegal.

I think what they say is illegal is a very harmful thing,
such as drugs, free sex, gambling and killings of protected animals, although in some countries legalize this,

and whether Bitcoin has been very harmful to the state and civilians, many facts that people helped because Bitcoin...

There are people, organizations, countries will tend to destroy bitcoin, but one thing is for sure, they cannot destroy it unless we will still stick to it no matter what. Don't worry about them let the people behind this handle and just do your part to continue to believe and hold what you have.

The people who want to destroy will be the government and the person who had affect by bitcoin. Since bitcoin is the decentralised currency, government can't control the growth of bitcoin and as well as investment in bitcoin. Bitcoin will become illegal .

There are more than some people that want to destroy Bitcoin and there are even state sponspored attacks as sad as that is. Most recently the Polish government paid a Youtuber to attack the credibility of Bitcoin. Pretty sad, but this kind of stuff happens and will continue to happen.

You have no idea how many people are against the bitcoin and mostly these people are coming from the higher posts and people with great authorities. Most of them also include businessman who are jealous of the bitcoin as it making more rich people in the world. Yes, that do happen and it is happening at this very moment. Many of the dumps occur due to such people when they make abusive statement about the bitcoin or blockchain.

And about the article saying things about the child abuse imagery, that seems to me another hoax just to make the blockchain look like very bad in front of the world. However it doesn't seem to me issue as there are no conclusive proofs that has been legally distributed.

To start with, Bitcoin is not yet formally declared and announced to be legal in some countries but some are accepting the fact that BTC exist and many are using it, some countries are banning it and saying it's illegal in there country but only to that country as long as your country and our's is accepting it then legality is not the min corn en there.

Some people may be trying to do so, but i think that it is not possible no one can destroy bitcoin, bitcoin will remain for ever because it has now become the basic need of the people, just like people, there are people who are using bitcoin for most of the purposes for which people are using fiat currency, therefore i think that the use of bitcoin is increasing day by day and now one can so easily destroy bitcoin.

First of all, there will be no ban. On the contrary, most countries will accept cryptocurrencies, some already have. The only thing is, there will be some regulation, but that's mostly regarding exchanges, ICO's and money laundering. Of course there are some people who have a high position in the government or in the financial world, who are afraid or jealous of cryptocurrencies and these are the people who try to bring bitcoin down by spreading lots of negative  opinions and FUD. But both governments and financial institutions see and acknowledge the advantages of bitcoin and blockchain.

no need to panic! bitcoin will soon be legal! I am sure that soon the world will accept it as well as Singapore and in South Korea! Now there is a war between the crypto market and the banking sector! it's the bankers who promote negative news so that people do not invest in the crypto world!

Any form of currency will be used for illegal activities and Bitcoin is also a digital currency which may be used for illegal purpose. For a decade illegal activities is happening with fiat and will the government ban fiat? That is impossible because they cannot do that because of practical difficulties. Then why everyone is worried as if only Bitcoin is used for illegal activities I don't understand.

Wouldn't even seriously look at similar threads but now this really dissapoints me. Seems everything is going to be against bitcoin and goverment really wants to stop using of it among people.
Bte why the hell don't they speak about monero and other coins? Bitcoin is decentralized and most known - that's reason, they want to have power on it.

Very few countries have gone as far as to declare bitcoin illegal. That does not, however, mean that bitcoin is "legal tender" - so far, only Japan has gone as far as to give bitcoin that designation. However, just because something isn't legal tender, does not mean that it cannot be used for payment - it just means that there are no protections for either the consumer or the merchant, and that its use as payment is completely discretionary.

Gday all,

Any form of currency will be used for illegal activities and Bitcoin is also a digital currency which may be used for illegal purpose. For a decade illegal activities is happening with fiat and will the government ban fiat? That is impossible because they cannot do that because of practical difficulties. Then why everyone is worried as if only Bitcoin is used for illegal activities I don't understand.

I think you have missed the point -

It is NOT about BTC being used for illegal activities.

The problem is that there is potentially illegal content right there on the blockchain right now.

It's perhaps a bit like fiat currency notes having links to porn printed on them, or even actual porn images.

This will become a HUGE story of FUD about BTC.

Kapyong
Added - the title of the thread is poor, it should be something like :
"FUD over illegal content buried in the blockchain".

No bitcoin pose really no risk, and as its ledger public and transactions can be tracked by governments, these transactions for illegal can be caught. It is even easier to catch criminals in public ledger.

I never think that's gonna happen. Blockchain is a leading technologies nowadays and bitcoin has become very popular. what is the use for any country to ban this kind of technology and destroy bitcoin, even is any one able to?
I think those are just news to aim crypto market for certain purposes.
