Bitcoin or Etherium?

I know it is an old topic. However, I would like to get some more fresh insights after the recent deep from experts and holders of both Bitcoin and Etherium. I have a little bit of both. However, I am hesitant with enlarging further my Bitcoin or Etherium portfolio. My brain says, Bitcoin will stay #1 for a minimum of few years. My heart says Etherium should grow significantly and finally overcome Bitcoun in the upcoming years. Not sure which one to chose as a long-term investment.

I only have Bitcoin and I think only Bitcoin is the right crypto to invest in it. The reasons are many and they are simple.

Bitcoin has more upside potential
Bitcoin is more widely accepted than Ethereum in many different sites and online stores
Bitcoin is more supported by the crypto community in general
Bitcoin has a limit of 21 million coins while Ethereum has unlimited supply.

Well it completly depends what type of investor you are. I am short term investor since it can make a lot of money from selling at hights and buying at dips, however if you plan to just put some money in crypto and fotget about it and check on it in a few years i would suggest you do diversify your portfolio to more than just BTC and ETH.
I am currently sitting on bitcoin and trading XMR, since XMR is having many ups and downs in a day/week time and bitcoin is the most stable currently.

I do think that Bitcoin is way better than etherium although both Btc and eth are good cryptos to invest with. Bitcoin has a larger community which I think its biggest advantage that highly affect the demand in the market. Most of the cryptos' market price are only dependent with the demand in the market. So if the demand on a certain crypto is high, surely it will have an expensive market value just like in Bitcoin whereas its market value is increasing continuously for a long run.

I have both little Bitcoin and Ethereum and I guess there is no need to choose one over the other as of now. Why not continue on enlarging your holdings in both cryptocurrency? There is a good chance that Bitcoin will continue on with its overall leadership despite the many challenges stoned unto it but at the same time Ethereum has a good potential for more growth in the coming months. I don't see the point of limiting your choice with only one of the two. In fact, aside from these two there are more coins or tokens that got good potential of expansion.

I totally agree with you, the market demand will determine which one will be able to keep growing, but maybe now Bitcoin will keep growing because everyone has started to believe in Bitcoin.

nothing has changed so far to give you any new insights. everything is still the same as before.
bitcoin has real usages as a currency, ethereum does not.
bitcoin has a big adoption by people other than speculators, ether does not.
bitcoin has a small supply, ethereum has a huge supply which is nearly 6 times bigger than bitcoin
bitcoin has a cap at 21 million, ethereum has no cap so its supply will continue to grow. and according to supply and demand it should not even be able to rise in long term.

For long-term investments, I recommend you to use bitcoin. This coin has a limited amount and is therefore protected from inflation. Eth has no such restrictions and therefore in the future these coins will be subject to inflation. Now we do not see this because the popularity of cryptocurrencies is growing. But with long-term storage of eth it can become a problem.

I would say 50/50, Bitcoin is more famous, more accepted in online stores, more valuable (for now). But Etherium is not worse - it's accepted by much ICOs than BTC, sometimes I even think it's more stable.

Both are the best coin right now both coin price is up . if you want to chose long term investment both are the best coin. after g20 conference both coin price up its a clear indication in future both have good prospect.

Ya it's very old topic and in that thread you can more valuable ideas from their.Based on today price and development of the bitcoin and Ethereum, bitcoin is the best one.Don't believe blindly anything, just accept only by the experience. I had trading bitcoin more than 6months,many time I had  gain more dollars from it.

bitcoin price is high, it is difficult to increase much in the future, ethereum is very potent and low price so I choose co ethereum investment

In my opinion in a long term investment the best coin is bitcoin and there is no doubt about it. Base on the time bitcoin reign on being the top 1 crypt is a solid proof that bitcoin can still be trusted for investment.

The etherium rises in price and does not jump so much as bitcoin will be stable in price then it will already be bitcoin again in first place

There is no doubt that long-term investment choice BTC!

With the successful application of lightning network in BTC, the transfer fee of BTC has been greatly reduced, and the network congestion of BTC has been alleviated. I think BTC is worth long-term investment!

i think bitcoin is a crypto that can trust and also bitcoin is the only crypto that have to invest because bitcoin is a crypto currency that never fail us.

Ethereum is second to bitcoin in comes to potential. Even though the price of ethereum is much lower than the bitcoin's, it is a good opportunity to invest in it because it will match bitcoin's achievements in the future. But it's better to do trading for both, specially bitcoin considering its huge price.

If you have any indecision then i told you can chose both coin because there is no doubt about both 2 coin. For long term investment you can chose Btc. i think its all depends on you.
