It's blogging platform, so we could expect something like that.

I too have a account on the medium i didn't receive any email about it. Do you have chat with the support team on medium. Ask them whether it is true or not.

If you'll read the posts above yours, you'll see the reference link I've shared, it was directly from Medium help center. Definitely, it's true. It seems that they did not send emails for this change. I have a medium account too and did not receive either an email or notification.

Surprised, I just found out that more and more are banning crypto and I have not really figured out exactly what the reason is for so many then ban about crypto simultaneously. I guess because there are so many shady ICOs out there. Shocked

I think those are lot of scammers around so medium think to start filtering ICO article, but until now my article seems Ok hope to be for long. I believe some strong reasons are applied by medium for banned.

This is sad to see.  I do see changes in the future though.  Sites like Steemit are catching on (although I personally don't like the platform) and I believe that we'll see many more coming to life in the future.  Of course, getting the amount of users like Medium, Facebook, Twitter & Google (the last 3 for advertising) will take some time, but I also feel that we'll see rapid growth in some of these platforms from the crypto users and supports, which in turn will bring it to the masses.

Sorry that your account was banned, that is bullsh*t.

I think it was banned for good reasons. As what has @Patatas has said, maybe it has something to do with bounties. Specially that there are non-English posters there who are really putting up that no one really understands because of broken English or even worst to scam people out of their hard earn money. It has nothing to do with the free speech or something. Sometimes you need to know where you stand, and at this point, looks like Medium is really fed up and says that they need to put a stop on it otherwise it will ruined the online publishing platform or social journalism that they established.
They do already know that their reputation or image would be mainly affected if they let this spamming would continue. They are already done with this why they do already made an action which isnt really surprising. For those people who do loves to spam for the sake of ICO then their days are already over.If Medium would find out of ICO spam then expect on what would be the consequences. There are already lost of accounts being banned due to this, they havent say a word towards this but on nearest presumption then this might really be the main reason.

Well, that's kind of predictable that Medium has taken measures like Google and FB.
Actually I find these rules quite reasonable as there is so much scam and copy&pasted articles. I really like medium, that's one of my favorites blog platforms. And that would certainly help to improve the quality of the content and protect the readers

Probably for the best, I've seen people literally copy and pasting the entire whitepaper and putting it on Medium, it gets pretty much zero views and does not for anybody.

I think the rules should be relaxed for original content, or for well known writers however.

Medium is clearly maintaining its cleanliness as they should have notice the spam of ICO and campaign related posts, there's a lot of way of earning through cryptocurrency i don't understand why people keeps on putting a lot of time on bounty campaigns.

Great step taken by Medium.Their servers were unnecessarily clogged by broken English speaking bounty whores.I love anything and everything that makes lives of the bounty hunters miserable.I wish even facebook and instagram takes the same steps and stops crypto related promotional activities such as bounties.

There's a space for everything and those fake ICO review sp don't belong on Medium. It is unfair to those who actually do write about projects objectively... But actually, I think those are safe from suspension the way I see it.
Bounty whoring should not exist on any social media platforms.I have no idea how to explain how much I hate bounty whores.

Oh common, Patatas I hope you're not as grumpy as you seems to be:)SmileySmiley Tell us the truth, besides hating bounty hunters, have you ever made any attempt to steal X-mas? Or at least, have you tried to poison a neighbour's cat, because he didn't let you sleep? ;p

People involved in bounty campaigns are useful, another way, nobody would pay them even a broken penny:) You can hate them or not, but until there is no better way for promotion, they will survive.
