Option for "Donation" should be added for those who do not want to invest in ICO. I have never invested in ICOs nor owned one... reason being that many see it as means to make lots of money including the fact that there is too much confusion and pressure on project owners. The greed and wailing were extremely annoying. I just want an environment where people can invest in projects they love, discuss and monitor the projects for progress rather than scream about lambo, moon and scam. This were partly responsible for "corruptions"  meddling in their cure in the name of Regulation.

This method should be one of other ways to raise funds.

My opinion ,ICOs should allocate percentage of their funds for Charities,  this way all contributors participate in charity.

Due to increasingly restrictive regulation measures many ICOS may switch to donations instead of transparent fundraising

Donation is not at all accepted in this forum. If anyone requested for they might go under red on their profile. That is how it has been goes in this forum buddies. If anyone donating for the concern project. They are very much eligible to be treat as a first person.

Likely managers and others who contribute any project. They are praise them with the additional stakes while the tokens has been distributed.

To be honest with you, my friend, there's nothing that will motivate others to blindly donate o any ICO projects, at least I know I wouldn't think of donating. This is because most of the time these companies or start ups raise more money than they truly need to develop and deploy their idea and their project or platform, what ever it might be. Secondly people are buying ICOs to profit from them, at least majority do, which means that you have many people who are not interested in things they are making, but rather it's all been cause of money, always and will be.

Good thought. If ICO is sucessful it will only make the project better in the eyes of investors

You must be kidding, right? If investing in ICOs wasn't dumb enough that you are asking for donations for ICOs. Most of the ICOs launching currently are nothing but scams. With the same rehashed white papers and attractive images to lure new users into their scam.

Most times it is noticed that people invest into ICO arbitrarily, without putting into consideration the main factors needed for an ICO to succeed. Many in the space want to invest in the “next Bitcoin”, potentially riding the wave of buying coins at pennies on the dollar and selling them later at an astronomical valuation. Most ICOs have only a conceptual white paper with little to no proof of concept, thereby validating a high payoff potential due to the extremely high-risk investors are taking. Investments really need to be made wisely.

Yes, most likely these projects will somehow veil the collection of funds and make it legal. I don't know exactly how ICOs can circumvent the law, but I'm fully confident that it will be done. The crypto currency must remain anonymous.

Most of the people here doesnt care about the project, all they want is to get profits from these tokens that they will get from these projects or ICOs.Right after the token has been listed in any exchange these people are going to dump the tokens driving the value of the coin below the ICO price and that sucks because you will wait months of even years to get your investments back.

Donation isnt an option, you will get banned here.

An interesting idea, I agree with it. But I do not agree that this option should be in ICO. This should be a separate section for raising funds in this way.

Well, see an ICO is essentially a marketing campaign to gather funds for a new startup. To say you want to donate to an ICO is like wanting to donate funds to Apple or Microsoft. Though it is a sweet thought (wanting to keep the greed out of the equation) it's unlikely people will donate unless the idea itself is starting a charity or NGO. If say, the ICO were for an organisation that wants to rescue stray dogs and find new loving owners for them then donation would be an amazing idea! If, however, the startup was aiming to start a factory for a new stylish set of headphones it would be unlikely anyone would want to donate to the project.

Perhaps what you're referring to is something closer to crowdfunding. In this way, smaller startups can receive a (significantly smaller) lump sum to start on a project they would otherwise have no way of starting. With crowdfunding the company doesn't actually distribute tokens but rather promises their contributors a kind of reward for their participation, like a t-shirt or thank you card.

To be honest, there are plenty of organisations around the world that desperately need donations from generous people like yourself. It may not become the next Fortune 500 company but you may very well make a difference in a single person's, or a stray puppy's, life. The kind nature of your question is admirable though, keep it up!

I do not think that it's worth creating a donations for those who do not invest in ICO. You can take risks and invest, and you can not invest. Your choice. So, it is possible to create donates for those who lost their money on ICO.  Therefore it is better not to create any donation. Only donations on charity

Who cares for donation, are you saying when am supposed to put in my money to make profits, I should donate for one, is it my family ICO/project?I tell you buddy it won't work. Although, no one can say, there may be a whole lot  of people like you there who believes in such an idea like this, all I can say is all the very best with your perception.

And ofcourses there should be some sort of incentives (and maybe privileges) for donors and a section to discuss the projects.
Wouldn't incentives for 'donations' just be bonus token rewards for contributors...? What would be the difference.

I mean, unless you're talking about receiving things like a tshirt?

That might be kind of cool... donations VIA crowd sourcing platforms that reward merch or something, instead of coin/token.

The meaning of donations in the OP is not about donating your crypto in others but it tells for the people who do not want to invest in ICO. As a wise investor, I will not let my money to invest in an ICO though we can say that there are discounts when we invest in ICO but we can't assure that it will become successful. Technically, we all want a diversification of coins in our portfolio but we are always doubt whenever we read people that protest to the scam ICO.

I think in ico there is no compulsion to require investors to buy their coins and everyone is free to choose the ico they like.

If we want to apply the donation method in ico, then there will be many problems that occur. Maybe the first thing is a lot of people who will fight for the position of being a developer and a fund holder.
