Here's the problem, and it's your problem: There's been an influx of noob accounts from countries where English isn't even a top-10th language, and word has gotten around that one can live like a king by just sitting on your ass in your hut, posting on this forum about bitcoin. So in very short order, the quality of this forum is RUINED by these people's posts.
Suddenly, the merit system appears out of nowhere and these no-Engrish shitposters are crying "foul!!!" because...because...
Because merits are given out to well-constructed, informative, funny, or otherwise
valuable posts. And guess what? The output from those people responsible for the above-mentioned influx doesn't even come close to being any of these things.
