Or maybe the update is just a ploy by some miners at Microsoft to lower the difficulty of their favorite coins by getting everyone else to turn off their rigs for an hour. 

Some gamers insist that every video device driver update improves their frame rates, but I haven't seen that translate very well to improved hash rates. But if anyone wants to update both their OS and their device drivers, now would be the time. Is .1709 a new Creator's Update?

Hasn't this update been out for a while already? I think I have it on my testing rig, didn't see any difference in hashrate.

yeah ... its released 5 months ago   its called Fall Creators Update  
Fall Creators Update (Version 1709) was officially released on October 24, 2017.

realy ?..thank you man, i will try that update. I hope windows 10 update can give me more hashrate for my mining rig  . Or give more simple to setting mining rig. Thank you windows, you can reliable.
