Now that is interesting to see, cryptocurrencies used like real-world currencies, finally!

Having checked the hotels, they are real and not scams, and other companies are accepting this coin as a form of payment, such as:
- Car rentals
- Engineering companies, mainly HVAC - Heating, Ventillating, Air-Conditioning
- Few e-shops
- Few food companies

So I can see this coin having usage, but if so, it would be beneficial to have a stable exchange rate, to really get into use in my opinion.

Also, the mentioned 20% discounts at hotels are mainly for the 2018 October period, with some exceptions, so keep that in mind.

This coin is quite a controversial one among the Greek community. The ann thread was on the greek subforum but in English. This coin never really reached acceptance or any recognition. Those hotels accepting it have probably never heard of it or never used it regardless. I doubt that they'd have the infrastructure to accept it anyway. Better bring a credit card!

Credit cards are not necessary, only HNC, the hotels are all 3 and 4 stars and they are affiliated with Hellenic Coin so they have heard, also they have the infrastructure to accept it, you can try it anyway.

You might say that, but it is true that is looks a bit sketchy, the website design is kind of off.
Although you can pay with Hellenic Coin, it is not so sure that it is a good idea due to the volatility of cryptos. Its likely that someone will be worse off, as the prices go up or down. This can have a braking effect in my opinion on using such a low marketcap coin for these purposes.

Also, I was not able to count 17 Hotels from the list

Can any high rank member in the space confirm this, if this is true because there have been news like this before where one would find out later that the information presented are false. If this is true then this is a great news for the project, because this is part of the adoption we are expecting form some of these ICO projects

There was a coin Kevin from sharktank was talking about on CNBC I think. He was talking about some hotel and how the ICO would be so beneficial. More adoption should be coming! The 20% off is what businesses should use to motivate people to buy with crypto. I like seeing this stuff.

The first one, Agrilia hotel has already on its site the HNC wallet so you can book directly your room, the others will have their own wallets within net week.
Also HNC is on the Coinomi platform so the payment is easier.

They are real guys, I have already use HNC, booking to Zante island at agrilia boutique hotel for a week. I have also call the rent trust something to rent a car for my vacations but they said that not need to book early. They also accept HNC.

I feel the OP is part of the HNC team and it looks like he looks like promoting HNC to be bought and people to invest on HNC, I do not know the news is true or not, but at least 17 hotels were not meager and they give 20% discount it is very extraordinary.

Yup, most definitely. People have been trying to peddle this shitcoin for years now. I don't even know what the motivation is. Perhaps the creator of that coin miner early and is now looking to sell off his excess to gullible people without crashing the market.

This might be a scam or at best misleading.

I'm crypto investor for 4 years now, i'm also Greek and yes i support HNC because it seems that is offering what every crypto must offer, acceptance by the merchants and it is used eventually for something, ever for buying a gum so to speak.
I've lost money to 4 ICO's which were claiming that they have a project for the real economy, HNC's project has already reach real economy since it is accepted from few hotels and not only accepted but also providing a big discount.
Tell me 2-3 more crypto coins that are being accepted in the real economy.

That's indeed, and this is purely an advertisement thread. In fact, i never heard about this coin but if that was accepting major crypto and that will be so easy to liquidate the amount. The coin never exists in our community and this is a new one. To raise more attention from the victims and this thread has been created to make a fake FOMO to the coin itself.  This is not my first time to see the similar thread like this one.

Gentlemen, is very easy to find out if this is a scam, if this is an adv thread or whatever you think. The only thing you have to do if you wish to spend your holidays in Greece is to contact one of the affiliate hotels of Hellenic Coin and check out if you'll get a 20% discount by paying with HNC, all the other is just for laughing.

The coin in subject long existing coin and it was meant for the Greek hotels, rent a car, airports, bars, restaurants and eshops merchant and the Greek were attached with electronic payment.. Why 17 hotels out all the hotels there?

So I should buy hellenic coin right now  It would be better if they accept bitcoin because they easily exchange btc for euro. Hellenic can be dumped to zero

The campaign for affiliating with hotels was started last month and within a month 17 hotels already have joined the vision of Hellenic Coin to become the coin of the Greek tourism, more and more hotels will join the list, every start is difficult we say in Greece, but anyway the reason for a coin to exist and have a meaning except speculation like all the others (including BTC) is to be accepted by merchants in real economy.
As far now as it concerns my friend Justin, i'ii disagree with him and say no it isn't better for the hotels to accept BTC because as you have seen in the last 3 months, if you have bought btc not just for speculation but also for taking advantage of the discount for your vacations in the case that hotels have accepted btc, the price dropped more than 70% , so you are damaged double, first the discount is gone and second you lost also from your initial capital. And remember that btc begun from penny price and went to 20,000 $ which means that it has theoretically long way to loss more.
In the case now of HNC, the price is near to ATL, the possibilities to go up are more than to go down, you are entering a story from the beginning and you don't have to invest a fortune if you are afraid, invest only the amount that you'll pay for your vacations if you choose Greece for destination and get your discount of 20%.
Simple as that.
