One of the best features of Bitcoin is it's anonymity. This is also one of the reason why countries are banning or at least hesitant to embrace the technology. From money laundering to illegal drug transactions to human trafficking. We always blame the FUD from mainstream media, financial institutions like banks, the government etal. But do you think, the one that would "kill" Bitcoin is actually the nature of it.

Here's another news where Bitcoin was being used in an illegal activity. This will raise a lot of eyebrows because it concerns our children.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Bitcoin is increasingly receiving the support of the international community but it certainly still has many shortcomings to overcome in the future. There is a need for management of bitcoin to prevent fraud and illegal activities implemented through bitcoin.

Unfortunately, some of the earliest adopters of all new technologies have been criminals. Their activities involve high risk operations, so they are willing to use state-of-the-art technology. That has nothing to do with bitcoin per se. Every disruptive invention in the history of humankind has initially gone through this phase, so will bitcoin. The next phase is widespread adoption!

I think not, because bitcoin is made just to be a medium of exchange, a currency to be exact. The mentality of the kills the bitcoin. The unlimited wants and unsatisfactory of the people leads for the decline of bitcoin. People kills the nature as well as the bitcoin.

I dont think that the illicit activity that bitcoin is used for will end bitcoin.  Bitcoin wasnt made to with the intent of being used for illicit activity it was made to solve the problem on centralized currency.  With this being said you could apply the same logic to guns.  Guns are constantly being used to kill people in the U.S, but that is not their only use so you cant entirely blame guns for murder.

Bitcoin has never really been anonymous, since the beginning, so I don't get the surprise. Just like I don't like the surprise that people use bitcoin to do bad stuff. Don't bad people use cash, credit cards, guns, cars etc etc do break the law? Yes, and they just do it with BTC as well. I would be much more worried about cash fiat, that still the most anonymous way of payment.

It is a childish way to go, but the media needs something interest to get their readers' attention. Not only could you apply the guns logic but if any currency that is used for illegal activity is useless, then every currency in the world is useless. We may as well not have cash then Cheesy, because there will always be criminals in society.

It is a well known fact that many websites in the dark net operates with bitcoin and that there only reside shit and garbage of our human society. We cannot blame bitcoin for that, as it is the same as blaming internet why pornography exists. The media that publishes these articles wants to have more views and more readers and it will do anything to achieve this goal.

Bitcoin is used much more on the better side of things compared to what this article is claiming.

Bitcoin has never been anonymous in the beginning. And criminals will be criminals, they will take advantage to steal or exploit someone so blockchain or bitcoin is no difference.

But if you are trying to compare it against fiat. Criminals have been using it as well for illegal activities, so why put the blame on bitcoin itself? I guess authorities should also do their thing here if they really wanted to stop all the criminals in the world.

not "countries" are banning bitcoin, bankster cartels thinking they are a country are trying to "ban" bitcoin, but they wont be successful its the systematic problem that they create, a society with billionaires owning passive income sources, and enslaved idiots forced to sell their time for the banksters money.

I believe that this is not actually going to happen, why would such thing happen when bitcoin was even love by people. Other countries are accepting it and are even legalizing it. Perhaps in other countries they might actually be killed the way you said it. But bitcoin coverage is worldwide other countries may not just follow the same thing.

Unfortunately due to the fact this is permissionless and permanent, I think this is only the start of these kinds of content being uploaded to a blockchain.

This is a real conundrum, the nature of bitcoin is revolutionary but I am sure many of us don't stand for this kind of stuff being uploaded in any way, shape or form. It is a bit different from people using it to buy drugs.
I am not sure there is a way to mitigate this unfortunately, not without compromising the fundamental building blocks of bitcoin.

Dogs are nice, I don't like cats though.

You know in many countries if one tries to commit suicide or kill himself, the penalty is death. So even if bitcoin isn't able to kill itself then something else will. Oh wait if only bitcoin was a human. Bitcoin is not. It cannot die. It cannot kill itself. I don't see why people are specifically blaming bitcoin for the supposed illegal activities. After all bitcoin is also a currency which comes under money. People have been doing illegal activities even before money existed. Get over it.

Let's begin with the article. It's bad journalism, full of speculation. They came to a conclusion that it could become illegal because of some content that was found. In reality, the article that first mentioned that said that "1 file of what might be child abuse was found". Might be, meaning that they aren't even sure, but yet there's this media hype, this pressure to make a big deal out of it. Somebody doesn't like BTC and wants it gone, that's how I see it.

As for the illegal activity that you're mentioning, show me a currency that isn't used for it. Show me a car manufacturer that never had their product used in a hit and run or any other illegal activity. Maybe we should start blaming Ford for that body found in the back of a truck, made by them? Or maybe we should blame Uncle Sam for those bills found in the pocket of a terrorist?

other countries are rulled entirely differently, people will there simply not accept bitcoin for their goods and services, because of environmental consciousness.

Your right dude! The main reason why bitcoin is not accepted in other country because of its high chance of possibility to be use in illegal purposes. But country with very tight security can maybe handle bitcoin so that it will not be use in illegal activities or the country has very low crime rate for sure they are ok to usr bitcoin.

I think what you say is true, because bitcoin is also difficult to cheer by cloud people, and we also need paper money, for transactions and bitcoin will be lost what if the owner forgot to paswod

It's like with a weapon. It remains good while it's used for defense purposes but can become bad once it got into someone's bad hands. The weapon can't be bad or good for itself. It all depends on the one who uses it and what for. The same with bitcoin and anonymity.

The anonymity feature isn't going to kill bitcoin. What's going to kill bitcoin is the unfair regulations it will be receiving and the continuous oppression of the uninformed media about the said cryptocurrency. The feature of anonymity alone isn't really harmful for bitcoin's growth, but the color the media painted bitcoin giving the public a distaste to this feature that was once praised by people. Little do these brainwashed people know that fiat is also anonymous, especially when the deal is made behind closed doors as there would be no trail whatsoever to follow in the event of fraud and illegal trades.
