i use 80 to allow gpu to throttle but that hasn't happened to me not even once because i have sapphire's RX 570 nitro+ and the cooler is overdesigned for this card so the max i see even with room at 35ºC is just about 60ºC.

BTC no more than 6k by end of 2019. ETH no more than 300$ by end 2019. Huge market manipulation, huge amount of scammers and hypers.

Thanks Piskeante, really appreciate the feedback. So mine stay at a constant 69-70 all day - I’m just worried I’m doing damage to the cards as I see many comments of toe 50-60 degree temps. I know my one PowerColor as a standard was set to 90 max and 80 target out the box but can assume that’s for gaming and not safe to mine with. I’m just worried I’m missing a beat as I can’t over-clock more than 1950 and ER 27-28 Mhs and I’m thinking it’s my heat that’s causing an issue. Thoughts?

Lower temp better for gpu, my target is 60' C But remember setting high speed of fan kill cooling system. better add extended coolers

hm, for me 75c set as a target, but card is not warms more then 52c with 34% of fan speed, but worth to mention that I'm mining ETN ( cryptonight) and not the ETH.. so I guess there would be a small difference, also the card asus rx580 strix has very efficient cooling system which plays a great part of this low tepm with low fan speed

Those aren't bad numbers, in fact your max could even go a bit higher to say 80° C for the summertime. I would also look to lower your target temperature to maybe 60 or 65° C, depending on your ambient air temperatures.

This temperature is still relatively safe, but you can adjust the fan speed to lower the temperature, otherwise the temperature of your graphics card will become higher and higher as the climate changes

Most of the time it is at 72ºC with the fan 66% (Asus strixx 4gb @29.1 Mh/s)

Based on the posts here, I see a lot of people running their GPUs at above 70 degrees. Is that advisable? From what i've previously read it seems that it would be wiser to keep it in the 60s range. I'm currently doing this by running my GPU fans at 90%++. Would it be healthier for my GPUs to run at higher temps but lower fan speeds (given that the fans are almost always first to give out)?

My gigabytes sticks to ~70c by the auto fans. But at summer needs additional venting

Thanks for the feedback guys, it’s not quite unanimous but it would seem I’m not breaking the cards lol. Will add additional fans to try get lower temps or maintain temp and improved hash? Is this possible?

Good 120mm fans set to the exhaust side lower around 3 to 4 C on msi rx 570. 28c room temp. Gpu temp 48C. Gpu fans 35%. Single coin mine.

I currently mine on Nvidia, but temps are temps. Mine are set at max of 65. I am very keen on preserving my hardware and lower temps are a way to do this. 70-75 should be okay, but the more the fans run the faster they will burn out. Play around wit the settings and see if you can get the same results at a lower temp.

Even 80-90 is safe, it won't fry or burn your GPU. But the higher the temperature, the less your GPU will last. I have several GPUs running extensively 24/24 at around 80 for several months that exhibit some weird problems when playing games.
So try to keep your cards as cool as possible!

70C-80C is acceptable, 60C-70C is optimum, below 60C is perfect.

So I figured out how to set my fans to a constant 95% on wattman. This has dropped the temp below 60’ however I assume the fans are not made to run at this pace indefinitely. Are fans a common gpu part requirement or whatever little motor which makes them run?

I have my temperature target at 52ºC now that I'm mining eth only on rx580 (35% is the minimum fan speed possible) 1200mhz @ 875mv
GPU0 t=52C fan=35%, GPU1 t=51C fan=42%, GPU2 t=51C fan=35%, GPU3 t=51C fan=40%, GPU4 t=50C fan=34%
For 24/7, I would avoid having anything above 70ºC because of the known failure rates of amd gpu's
