Yeah bitcoin has been decreasing in value for quite some time now but i don't think selling any cryptocurrency at this time is not good because of how down the market has gone down. How long you should have to wait is depends on when did you buy the coin.
If you bought the coin when the price is low, i guess you don't need long time to sell it later.
Therefore, i suggest we better to buy the coin when it is on the bottom, like the current situation.

The "Hodl" term is a way of encouraging the community not to sell to keep the market healthy when there is overall pressure to sell. It is not compulsory at all.
