Hi All

I updated my Ledger Nano S a few days and all wenet fine on Secure Element 1.4.1, MCU 1.5.

I did not open any apps at all/touch anything else.

I just went to open BTC wallet via Chrome extension, usual window opens, plug in my Ledger put in passkey, hear the 'bing/bong' BUT nothing opens !!

Have had this once or twice in past and closing everything down/restarting Laptop sorts it EVERYTIME. This is Also the same for Ledger manager Extension !!

BUT this time i still get the same, tried every USB port, Uninstalled all extensions, ONY installed BTC, only installed Ledger Manager...cleared browsing etc, god knows how many restarts/installs, the SAME OUTCOME ??

Out of curiosity i tried to open Ripple, which is NOT an extension BUT a shortcut on my desktop and that opened fine ??

Anyone help, i have a LOT of BTC and other coins ALL saved on my Ledger and this is frightening tbh..

Cheers

If you wrote down your seed (which you should've done) all your coins are safe anyway.

Is the computer detecting the device still? Possibly try going to device manager and try to uninstall the driver (with the delete button unchecked).

Can you regress your extension install back to the point where it actually worked?
If all this fails, you can always download electrum to get the btc coins out (using the hardware device connection NOT IMPUTTING THE SEED) - that can test the ledger's alright.

Did you try a different USB connector also?

Yes i have my seed saved !!!

It is detecting it as it makes 'bing/bong' noise when i have entered my password BUT apps do not open ? XRP will open fine BUT that is not a chrome extension, it is stored in programs as an .exe file

I have tried ALL usb ports. How would i find which driver to delete ?

Do you mean doing a RESTORE from a previous saved point on my pc ?

I had the Ledger to MOVE AWAY from Electrum...lol  After years of using it and always having to remove the appdata folder and restore from seed as it randomly would not accept my password...

Not sure what to try first tbh...System restore ? as Ripple is opening fine (so drivers are ok i presume ?)

Thanks

Update.

Just looked in Device Manager and there was one yellow exclamation mark against one HID-Compliant Device, i updated this driver, refreshed, and it showed two Ledger nano s with nothing in properties, NO DRIVER details.

One closing it asked for a restart due to Hardware changes, restarted and my BTC is back working , not tried Ledger Manger or any other's yet.

Also the Ledger is showing as a 'HID-Consumser Compliant Control Device' now Huh

Anyway i will update when i have tested other wallets/Ledger Manager etc..

Cheers

Sounds weird but try to use a different usb port. Sometimes windows has the glitch that re plugging the devices into other usb ports get the device recognized properly.

I have been trying ALL 5 for hours...Very weird...PLUS i had some BCH (kept aside for purchasing S9's.

It took 3 log in for balance to show/sync with network...??

Did not think i had that much TBH !!! Landed !!!...lol

Does this mean it should now be fixed then? If so then that's good! All your coins are safe and easy to access. Drivers usually cause issues when it's Windows as some can be badly handled by the OS (from my own experience).

Many people have reported a problem with Ledger drivers,so if you are on Windows go to Control Panel\System and Security\System >Device manager and then under Human Interface Devices - USB Input Device you should remove any device with yellow mark. After that open again Ledger Manager and connect the Ledger.
