You are new to bitcoin, so you don't know what you want. Do not get into mining, the greedy guys with their ASICs destroyed it. There is no reason to mine, as you won't mine anything anyway.

You'd want to pool it and get paid for your shares, or run it on an alt chain at much lower difficulty and buy back into BTC ... or likely both....  I'd personally recommend using multipool (us/eu servers available) for small hashers since the pool automatically helps you mine the most cost efficient coin of the day and all you have to do is decide to trade them or keep them and use them as you see fit.  Mid-sized miners would do well on bitparking, p2pool or eligius in merge mined configurations to get a slight profits increase and then the large miners probably imho best suited for ghash.io and btcguild  .... but that's just my opinion fwiw

but yes... like gambling but gambling in a way that is highly mathematically predictable.

Please post a site that sells it cheaper. I don't know one. If you do, do us all a favor and post it so that we can all use it. Never said it would ROI, simply that it was decent price compared to alternatives, such as eBay.

It's funny that you say the price is "decent" because the buyer doesn't lose as much money as compared to alternatives. For a price to be "decent", I would expect the buyer to at least make a "decent" profit. I guess my standards are higher. I don't know why people insist on buying mining equipment that will never make a profit (unless, of course, they are doing it for fun or as a learning experience).

When you are in a pool it will allocate the easiest shares to the slowest miners. He doesn't have to solo mine. Meaning he will get payouts even if they are really really tiny.

Also, not everyone buys these little USB's for profit. I bought one for my younger cousin just to get him interested. Didn't care if it would ROI.

When I was mining on bitparking the 10TH/s pool took approx 24 hrs to find a block. Therefore I would guesstimate that one .333GH/s USB ASICminer would take an average of 84 years to find a block with solo mining but that is assuming no change in difficulty!

Bitmit.net ... saw 50 of them sell the other day for $250  ($5 each if my maths are not failing me...), also have seen several on auction at sub 0.1 BTC prices as well.

$5 each is nice for a test, but I suggest buying only few because if you have over 10 your HUB might get problems how to run them all.
