Privacy-focused cryptocurrency zcash is gearing up for its first hard fork.

And while that may call to mind bitter debates over development or excitement about free coins, actually zcash's first hard fork - dubbed "Overwinter" - isn't about either. Instead, the cryptocurrency's developer team is hoping to lay the groundwork for more dramatic upgrades in the future.

Interesting. Will see how it turns out in future. But what is the purpose of hard fork?

I've read the article and there is no technological improves mentioned, pure marketing article. Curious to know what is the fork for?

once we had some zcash hardfork and it was named as Bitcoin Diamond or something and that one has turned out to be some yet another shitcoin for pump-a-dump purpose and then the dev runs away as usual Tongue though I admit Gobyte is still alive since it's been for 4 months
