Well if they implement the lightning network on mainnet we will expect that every transaction will be instant, but we still don't sure if it will give us instant transaction.
As of now, I heard they are still in beta testing, but I hope they release it too...
According to coins.ph it is just like the same as coinbase if you are using the same app, then you can receive your bitcoin in an instant or faster confirmation, but not all bitcoin users are using coinbase as their wallet because they are treating coinbase as not safe because you couldn't retrieve your own private key that you can use for recover once the coinbase is down or gone forever.

SegWit activation was the first important step moving forward, which opens the door for off-chain scaling layers to be built on top of Bitcoin making scaling no longer an issue.
