Your information is of great help to me as a novice. Now I will be more careful with the ICO project, because I lost 5 ETH in ICO last year.

I've seen many users complaining about being scammed by ICO projects most of them are new investors which probably gonna be the next generation of investors in cryptocurrency industry. I've been here in the cryptocurrency industry for a year and I've invested into different projects and seen how they disappear in the thin air, so to avoid this I want to share to you my criteria on choosing the right ICO or project to invest in.

This is not guaranteed but maybe in some point it may help you atleast to reduce the possibility on getting scammed by ICO's, the list below are my personal criteria how I choose Project to invest with using bitcoin or other cryptocurrency:

  • Check the Background of the team (If the team didn't give info about each member of the team such as name previous projects, background, etc. There's a possibility that they will just run away with your money if they didn't give info's about their team.)
  • Read their whitepaper and look if it's really worth to invest with, their concept, etc. (This is important to know what the project is all about.)
  • Check the Social media accounts, If you find it very interesting presentable. (Join their telegram group in order to be updated.)
  • Check the Projects professionalism (How they handle users, control frauds, etc.)
  • Follow their Roadmap and other technical details and see if they meet it on time.
  • Look for the projects community and see if the community is active.
  • Look for special proof and validation.
  • Do your own research about the project such as review about the projects or you can also check the projects ANN thread to see comments who's agree/disagree or the communities idea about the project because ANN threads is like an open forum where you can ask, give insights, etc.

PS. If you have something to share in order to avoid scam or any topic related feel free to share so everyone will learn from us.

To me one of the things that I have learned personally to avoid being scammed is to never trust fully. What I mean by that is to always double check to verify to continually ask questions and try to figure put for yourself the truth. If something is more than what it appears or if anything seems farcetched and too easy to attain then for me that is a sign that this is a scam and almost too good to be true which means it should be a no for me.

I deceived again only when I decided to wait until the coin is still growing by 100% since it is already greed, and it was necessary to sell and buy when it falls!

I've been scam for many times. And I have learned that in all my ways. So it's good to see how good ICO will be. One of our need to know whether legitimate and true is legitimate is to see their transparency. We can see immediately if they are the most visible faces on their websites, whitepapers and social media accounts

I have discovered a new platform that allows to literally “see” the future of cryptocurrency world. AI-based trading solution Cryptics is the project that seeks to offer the necessary instruments for alleviating the situation with uncertainty. It is able to make a daily and hourly forecasts for the crypto market (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and more) with 70% accuracy. Moreover, they will have a giveaway on Wednesday and the main prize is Lamborghini.  The future has come! If you want to know more - https://youtu.be/52RacK8L4GI

Thanks for The post though every good investor ought to know all this before investing in any project, why will someone invest in a project that have faceless team and experience in cryto, is totally absurd. As an investor in the cryptospace U got to do your assignment well if U don't want to end up being scammed.

However, now, many scam projects are very smart. They can play neatly and without arousing suspicion. Probably the same as normal ICO. The ICO scam also has a structured and systematic framework to deceive its devotees. And this is really creepy. I sometimes still hesitate to invest. As a solution, I had a discussion with my friends about the project.

Sometimes even though we have chosen with confidence and ensure it will not scams.. but instead got scams or not successful also it may because invited by someone. Well, I think the point is to be able to deepening everything related to a certain project from time to time and learn from many experiences also not easy to believe.

He just convince us to post and share his campagn and as a result nothing happened. I want to share my experienced, because there are lot of beginners here in bitcointalk forum who don't know yet anything about this. I hope in some point I help some other people.
