I want to Backup a few "hot wallets" from my pc, which medium would be the medium of choice?
-Extra hdd looks a bit expensive. -DVD seems to be inferior to CD in terms durability -CDs seem to bee the medium of choice, _but_ it is hard to spot a good one, even well known brands produce crappy ones. - SD cards???
btw, my cold storage is etched in a electronic circuit board, virtually indestructably, but infeasable for used wallets

Make sure wherever you store your BTC that it's immune to EMP attacks.

Wallets encrypted, multiple USB sticks, I encrypt the USB sticks too as a standard procedure.

You can use some online cloud system (encrypted data ofc), like dropbox...

USB stick? They are really cheap.
Yes, and you can use 2 of them or 3. And you can put them whenever you want.

USB and online cloud. Encrypt it well and place on the online file hosting servers like email attachment as well and someone hacks it = bye bye money. No. Make multiple backups, a few CDs and USB or two, maybe try a paper wallet too. someone steals the usb or even worse the unencrytped paper and bye bye money. seriously, it's nearly impossible to crack an encrypted wallet, when done right.

Email is good. Just make sure to rename the backup file.

+1 for USB, they're excellent and you can even get Windows 7 put on them if your fed up with using slow ass CD's for installation, I also find they're far more solidly made than other storage options. External hard drives do seem like a good idea though to me if you're willing to pay the price. Edit: I just looked up USBs now and I'm amazed at how far they've progressed, 32GB on a tiny stick like that for only £15 or so? That's a fucking steal, you'd probably have to do some research to find out which ones are fastest though. http://www.amazon.co.uk/iBoutique%C2%AE-Hi-Speed-Elite-Flash-Drive/dp/B0052ULREQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382954530&sr=8-2&keywords=USB
