I am wondering if there are any meetups in NorCal? I live about 3 hours from SF but I would travel to attend. I would like to attend because I am interested in spreading the word up here to my local community.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I had considered doing one in Sacramento but I wasnt sure about the attendance. I believe the people from lets talk bitcoin do one in Napa sometimes

I would go to either they are about the same distance away from me. Ill have to keep an eye out for the Napa meet.

Thanks for the great link! This is about 3 1/2 hours from my house but I may do one it sounds like fun!
