Well it’s good to have competition in the market. Blockchain technology is still in a developing stage so we will have to see a lot more innovations in the blockchain and many new cryptocurrencies will emerge during the process. The developers are trying to give the best with unique features and continuously experimenting in this regards. So far ETH is a good option for the people in alts investment as well as in using ETH blockchain for the development of new currency. 
The CMT may be much faster but new problems will arise with it as many selective people may not trust on it. At the same time it will be of a great interest for the people whose frequency of transactions is high and split.

They are also promising an interchangeable security algorithm wherein they  can change/upgrade their security algo anytime without forking. They will also attempt to compete against Ethereum as a Dapps platform that offers code agnostic capabilities for programmers.
