Hi guyz,

what are some suggestions for the best coin to mine atm with AMD gpus for best medium term gains? Pls don't give me a link to whattomine.com, I read their recommendations.

I am asking for coins with best potential for growth in the next 6-9 months that can be mined with gpus - even if their current ROI is under eth.

Any suggestions?

Some friends of mine told me that Electroneum has potential. I am relatively new into mining but I work as an IT and computers are my passion in life. The ROI is good for 6-9 months and there is another potential for an increase in price. People used to make about 50 or more Electroneum daily when the price of one was only 0.08 dollars. That is all the info I have from my friends and colleagues which are into mining from a longer period than I am, still I believe to as good as them when it comes to installing and configuring computers.

Essentially what you need is a crystal ball/seer/soothsayer.

In a bull run it's easy to predict "coins" that will rise in value, because one way or the other, all altcoins are linked to the value of Bitcoin. When Bitcoin rises, so will the altcoins, or the majority of them at least.

The same holds true for a bear run (which we are in right now) only in reverse. It's easy for me, or anyone else, to predict that the value of most coins will fall in value, which they are currently in the process of doing.

That being said, if someone did suggest a coin to you and you went off blindly mining it, even at the expense of earning less than you would mining ETH. Would you begrudge them if you mined it for a week/month/year and then it ended up being worth nothing? Would it be their fault for suggesting it to you? Or, would it be your own fault, for not doing your own research in the first place and seeing what options are open to you, rather than taking someone else's advice.

If mining ETH is the only profitable coin for you to mine at the moment, why would you mine something else at your own expense when you can just buy those other coins with your profits from mining ETH?

For example: In one day I can mine with thirty 470's and get €18.83 in profit from mining ETH in one day according to this https://crypt0.zone/calculator/s/s01wqjhg

But if I want to mine Dinastycoin (DCY) I would only earn € 6.20 in profits per day. So wouldn't it make more sense to mine ETH and buy over three times more DCY with my profits from ETH, rather than mining DCY for the day?

I guess it comes down to this, do you want to speculate with your own money, and are not interested in mining for a profit, then just buy the coins and forget about mining, or do you want to speculate with your profits from mining at no extra expense to yourself.

If I suggested to you to mine DCY (which I wouldn't) and you went and mined it, every day you'd lose over €12 in profit compared to mining ETH. Do you think that by mining DCY everyday for a month is the right choice? €12 x 30 days = €360< that would be your loss per month compared to mining ETH. If you believed that it was still worth it mining DCY even at that loss, because you believed it would surpass ETH in value. You could have bought an extra €360 worth of DCY in that month if you continued mining ETH or the most profitable coin and used your profits for speculating.

Some friends of mine told me that Electroneum has potential.

Actually I mined ETN at some point when they were closer to the launch (not just at launch), but I gave up because it seemed for me its price won't be able to grow because the team had issues with the ico (something with security) and delayed for weeks the launch.

Idk, maybe I should revisit the ROI figures for ETN...

If you have amds like me just wait for the new monero fork V7 coming in about a week.   Should throw all the Baikal and bitmain ASICs
off the coin,  should make this coin very profitable for at least a couple of days.  At least until people who go to "what to mine" every day and start jumping
on.

Essentially what you need is a crystal ball/seer/soothsayer.

Don't need one, I prefer to exchange opinions with people more experienced; just add their input/experience to my own.  Wink

Ofc, I wouldn't mine some coin just because someone suggested it, but I would put some time to do a small research on it. Better to have a starting point that to get on the 1500+ coins listed on CMC, right? Smiley

If mining ETH is the only profitable coin for you to mine at the moment, why would you mine something else at your own expense when you can just buy those other coins with your profits from mining ETH?

Here I would say for a cost of opportunity. choosing to win less (lose some) in the short term to gain bigger roi in medium term. As a comparison: Library Coin (LBC) has a potential of growth based on history higher than ETH - just by looking at the charts; so, wouldn't be smarter to mine LBC adn wait for the bullisgh market to return? This was my question...

Of course it wouldn't be smarter to mine LBC and wait for a bullish market to return.

What you need to do is look at my example again with DCY and swap it out with LBC. What's smarter mining LBC at €6.20 per day profit with your electric paid, or, mining ETH at €18.60 with your electric paid?

If you had a choice of buying €6.20 worth of LBC, or €18.60 with your mining power per day, which would it be?

If you want to "lose some" why are you even asking about speculating?

I think ETH still a profit for future or you can to try ETC coin, ETN, and for Neoscrypt coins depends on GPU series (AMD). actually, for ROI can't a prediction because of a coin prices change.

ipbc - cryptonight

Maybe you are not aware of this ASIC miner purposely built to mine CyptoNight, Antminer X3,Batch 1 and Antminer X3,Batch 2. They were all sold out it was clearly stated in both links. So if it's true then those who bought them may be already mining cryptonight coins, such as Monero and Bytecoin.

It seems like even crypt0.zone is mining cryptonight.  CPU goes to the roof when my Firefox goes to that site :-(

Fellow miners, get your thens and thans in order and help other forum readers understand what you are writing. Remember the grammar basics:  B larger THAN A (comparator operator). If something THEN ....

If you're not a professional miner and you have to ask questions like these (instead of googling them) just to stay profitable, then you are probably better off mining the most profitable coin to mine at the moment, which is Ethereum. If you want to level up your game do your own research.

Google is your friend.

What about Ubiq (UBQ)? It seems to be a pretty good coin in the long run and if you see the charts for it... it shows potential of big growth.

You could mine about 0.5 UBQ per day with an RX580 8GB, maybe even more...

The Cryptonight ASIC's are already mining, and this mining is being done by the ASIC manufacturer to recover some of there costs before selling them on after the difficulty has shot up and they will become less profitable for the new buyers.
But there is some good news as the Cryptonight coins devs are starting to change the algorithm so the ASICs will become useless, Monero has, if not already done so, changed it's algo.

You would be better off mining ETH or some other profitable coin then simply convert and buy UBIQ if you truly believe in its potential value. This strategy has already been proven far more effective in many discussions in this forum.
