If Facebook Can Be Worth Billions, Why Can't Cryptocurrencies?

https://cryptotown.io/news/if-facebook-can-be-worth-billions-why-cant-cryptocurrencies-coindesk/index.html

cryptocurrency is a digital currency, not like facebook. facebook is the company. I think crytpcurrency already has its own value so it depends on the future. is it acceptable all over the world. now there are still many polemics that oppose cryptocurrency as a medium of exchange. whereas cryptocurrency is the future of the world. where everyone will be able to transact through cryptocurrency. hopefully the future cryptocurrency supported by all parties such as facebook banning the end of this plus google that will ban the cryptocurrenci ads in the month of June. so we all expect cryptocurrency to be supported and will have a high value for the future.

Cryptocurrency market capitalization in total is almost 300 billion dollars coins that are officially listed on CMC while the current stock market cap of Facebook is 440 plus billion USD title is a bit misleading crypto cap is already billions the difference is that Facebook alone has the largest figure for capitalization, cryptocurrency is still young as it needs tons of improvements, upgrades, innovation and useful platforms that rival the traditional, hopefully the future development will have an expanded and competent products or platforms.

I understand your point, but Facebook has massive, massive adoption. Bitcoin and crypto is well known, but not on the scale of Facebook. Let's give crypto a few more years.

Though there are so many differences between cryptocurrency and Facebook, both of these have some monetary value. And yes, cryptocurrency also can. Even I think the trend of crypto market will make the industry worth 10X more than Facebook or any other world.

Yeah I think so. I might be a hypothesis some months ago. Because at that time, definitely you can say why crypto currencies aren’t coming up. But for now, believe me everything is just going up. Bitcoins are amazingly growing and so are the other sensible and technical altcoins. They are getting so fame and that is why the prices are going up. Ultimately, this world is growing to a billionaire investment.

Cryptocurrencies are based on a technology called Blockchain. Facebook utilized the internet or Web 2.0. A day will come when the internet will be decentralized thus Web 3.0. New ideas and new startups are now emerging each and everyday that utilizes blockchains. There is no doubt that in the next few years, the cryptocurrency industry will be worth trillions.

I think facebook is a different thing compared to cryprocurrencies and we cannot compare them because it is not like you would compare facebook with YouTube that are 2 big companies wich are rivals and are not very different. If facebook can worth billions, I think anything can worth billions you just have to make it good enough. It is like that rumour ,,One man's thrash is another man's gold". For someone some rusted iron can look like junk but if you get hundreds of kilos of iron you can make money out of it. Cryptocurrencies already worth billions and I think soon they are going to surpass facebook because they are the future.

i think this is mistake comparison here because facebook is social media site which is people can interact and chats with other people around the world and people can use facebook for free and crypto can consider as digital money but crypto is clearly different than facebook so i think this is wrong comparison

Very nice article, very bad marketing lol
By the way, it looks like a counterattack made to Facebook, after a while ago Facebook banned the crypto’s advertisements on their website. As I have seen at its original source in CoinDesk, the problems that exist are defined poorly, it’s like reviewed randomly without a deep description.

Compering Facebook and crypto is a great thing to talk about, Facebook has been in existence for a very long period of time now, so it can be worth billions, but crypto just came not quiet long. Therefore crypto is growing gradually before it reaches the time of Facebook it will worth trillion which is more than Facebook.

Yeah, the cryptocurrency market is already worth Billions. The question should be why cant cryptocurrencies be worth Trillions? To which i say they can and will. I believe Bitcoin will always be the dominant crypto as it has the first mover advantage. I think in the future, especially with the millennial generation, Bitcoin will start to cannibalize the gold market. Bitcoin is just like gold, except better in nearly every single way. The Millennial generation will very likely opt in to buy Bitcoin instead of gold.

If you think about the numbers, Facebook has 2.2 billion active users, and probably around 3 billion registered users. FB has a market cap of 466 billion USD, which means that everyone of its active users is worth around $211 (which is actually much higher than I was expecting). Currently bitcoin's market cap stands at 100 billion USD, with an estimated 10 million users transacting in bitcoin regularly. This means that each user is worth approximately $10,000. 50x higher than Facebook. Just looking at these numbers, if Bitcoin quintuples in users, it will exceed the market cap of Facebook by a good margin. And going from 10M to 50M users is much more likely than Facebook getting much bigger than it already is.

TLDR; Bitcoin will be bigger than Facebook soon.

base on not stable price some people here or in the world not like crypto because we need to take the risk

actually no one can regulate this because it start by it so if you regulate crypto then you only kill the sense that crypto can't regulate

another thing it run by so much conveniece now like we can use this to pay other so i think it can't happen anymore that have a stable price in the future because it's already good by now

Am I missing something here, they can be worth billions and already are. Facebook's market cap is about 450bn and cryptocurrencies as a whole is at about 300bn, that's only a 1.5x difference. I think comparing crypto to facebook is a strange choice because they're very different but if I had to I would argue it actually shows cryptos to be a little overvalued just based on numbers. It's very incorrect to draw such conclusions because they function so differently and so their values should be very different.

Cryptocurrency and social media in internet have value because of interest of user.
No user so no value. This means more value can come to crypto if more user join in the party. So for now i think facebook has more user rather than crypto so thats why the value of crypto is less than facebook.

There were both are age fellows. Bitcoins and Facebook, I think both took start in 2008 but see how beautifully Facebook have progressed. But this doesn’t mean that bitcoins are just worthless. No, if you want to check, ask any bitcoin user to give you bitcoins as gift and just see this response. You will be getting to know how important bitcoins are in this era. So yes, both made amazing progress.
