All that work for 0.005 BTC? They probably figure they could setup 50 or so accounts and get lucky. Nice going though. That last sentence cracked me up.

Well done. There are many people who will try to cheat the system, just to earn a few cents. I'm glad you were able to keep the giveaways going for your legitimate players.

0.005btc, dang your giving away $1 per customer, of course it will get abused. mining on a 60Ghash avalon would take a couple hours to earn $1

there are people out there that have programmed an app to sign up to some easy sign up mail service and all that is required of them is to do the captcha manually (taking 2 seconds per account).  so lets say that they can make 15 twitter accounts and follow each other in 15 minutes then that is the equivalent to a 500Ghash unit.(60$ an hour). for something of this 'reward' you will always get scammers,

instead of giving out BTC, it would be better to offer 'free rolls' not using blockchain coins.. which will reduce the withdrawals without plays, but still getting people to use your service.

make it like a tutorial/fun section, get them to play the game and learn how to use it. and once its done they qualify for 'play for real' feature where they would go back to a 0 balance and deposit their own funds.

another addition could be that if after X wins on 'play for real' they have a chance to get their 'fun/tutorial' winnings added to their 'play for real' pot, but thats something that you would have to work out

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Have you considered doing what PrimeDice does? They give users 3000 satoishis which users are allowed to claim once per minute (up to a limit of 5000 satoshis). The withdrawal limit is 50,000 satoshis (0.0005 BTC) so in order to actually be able to withdraw, users need to gamble those initial fee satoshis to 16.666 times their initial value.

This event has such a low probability (less than 6%) that the maths protects them from big losses due to this giveaway, which is why they are able to offer this once per minute (obviously, they need a captcha to prevent bots from running riot on it).

Cheers, Paul.

I tried their faucet, but 3000 Satoshi but I think thats too little and I hate doing captchas. We are giving out 500,000 satoshis in for clicking a follow button, and you can actually gamble hundreds of rounds to enjoy it. Personally I don't think the people who would spend their time doing captcha for 3000 satoshis is our target customer anyway.

your target customer base should not be:
*the "dust for salary" earners, so avoid withdrawable giveaways for little/no work,(captcha/follow me/like button/subscribe button)
*those that signup just to get givaway, so making it a tutorial, lengthy 'free- play" to waste their time, as they are HIGHLY unlikely going to deposit any/much into the games anyway.
those that truly want to gamble and will return time and time again like to see a easy sign-up and a nice free-play/tutorial so they can have some fun on so a free play round tutorial games would hook more people in. plus the word of mouth spreads around better that your system is fun and slightly better odds as ur not having to reduce the odds just to cover givaways

there is no point having 20,000 'likes' if it only, in reality means that 100 people can make 200 clone accounts which never go viral to actual people

Neat. I don't find random dice games particularly exciting, (for some reason I like to have silly card games to distract me from the fact that I'm doing essentially the same thing) but I doubled my bonus and invested it in the bank. Wink

The first barrier to entry is getting users to actually play your game.

The second barrier to entry is getting users to deposit actual coins.

How does your giveaway address these factors better than primedice? In addition it wouldn't surprise me if what you are asking is against the twitter TOS, did you check it?

when i clicked on this thread, i expected something else...

well, if you give something away for free, people will abuse it, no exception. specially when it comes to bitcoin. i created a crappy bitcoin faucet page a year ago to get deeper into the bitcoin client and so on...

before i start telling a long story, there are people sitting with botnets and other resources, they dont care about ips and amount of accounts of whatever. no matter what tasks people have to do, if it can be done by a bot, someone will write a bot for it. it doesnt even matter how much or less you give away, if it can be abused, it will be abused :/

i hope the thieves wrote you cool stories when they complaint about their missing gift, at least they did to me ^.^

about the lol ip ban guys, even 2013, if you ip ban ranges from e.g. free proxys etc, you make 12 year olds cry for not being able to steal your money. i know botnets, vpns and even people who know how to pull the plug from their moden dont care about ip bans, but well, at least you can fight a few with this as long as you know what you ip ban, otherwise you can lock out real users :/

Haven't checked twitter TOS, but I don't see why it would be against twitter TOS. People do these promotion all the time, "follow us to enter a sweepstakes" or something, and from how easy it is for these guys to create fake twitter account + getting fake followers, twitter is pretty  relaxed on people doing whatever with it. If anything, it'll make them look bigger and more popular (investors would give higher evaluation now that they are going public).

It would be good if we can find a way to lower the barrier to entry for depositing actual coin some how.

Indeed! Now things are not so bad anymore. My log file still shows many guys are trying all the time, but pretty much all of them are blocked now by the algorithm.

Those are good tips! Maybe we can scrap the real coin giveaway and add a free-play/tutorial feature.

It would be good if we can find a way to lower the barrier to entry for depositing actual coin some how.

The key is to keep them playing - same rule for every casino in the world. People have a funny habit of only remembering the wins, so when they see themselves taking those 3000 satoshis and gambling them all the way up to 10x the initial value they remember that, rather than the 20 times they lost it. Then, after a while of playing with the free coins, they start to think how easy it would be to do the same with their own coins - that is where you want to be as a site owner.

Keep them playing, for as long as possible.

What do you think about doing a video tutorial?

maybe. but maybe something like what you get when you play the first couple levels of a facebook game. where it has arrows or colourful flashing buttons/ borders to indicate what needs to be pressed so that its an interactive demo/tutorial so that it keeps true gamblers enjoying the game. and during this tutorial period they get their 50 minimal value bets. which the winnings don't instantly get added to a balance that is withdrawable. but the winnings are placed into a bonus pot once the trial is over and then get added into withdrawable funds once they played X amount of real bitcoin games.

thats one idea but basically if it takes atleast 2 hours of playing and risking peoples own money just to withdraw $1 dust winnings will deter the 'dust salary earners' but for genuine gamblers, knowing they have an extra bonus pot is an achievement they can aim for using real funds.

the other idea which is a totally different aproach is to have an advertisement between every bet of the tutorial stage, that kind of self funds the bet. thus your not losing any funds and the genuine gambler can move onto 'play for real' to get advantages like placing bigger bets because he is using own funds this time, and not having annoying adverts..

there are many ways to make it annoying for the dust gatherers. but i hope the idea's a few of us have given, inspire you

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

The way we have it right now is kind of similar to your suggestion of withdrawing the bonus after they played x amount of real games. right now users who get 0.005BTC needs to wager 1.5BTC before they can withdraw. Statistically that'll be pretty hard to wager 1.5BTC with 0.005BTC of starting wager, however, if they get the 0.005, then they deposit say 0.1BTC and play with 0.1005, they only need a few rounds to reach the limit, thus effectively getting the 0.005 without restriction.

I don't know if I want to add advertisement on the site. People generally don't like ads and I think it would make the site feel cheap (unless the ads is high quality brands, but they probably won't want to advertise on a bitcoin casino).

That's sad. It amazes me how much someone will go through just for some pocket change.

Yeah, they all seem like smart people so it's a shame they don't use their time doing productive things. Good thing is now the level of fake accounts who get credited is almost 0 now.

What do you think about doing a video tutorial?

I think its pretty self explanatory already - people know what they have to do, its just getting them to push that button. With your method of getting a start up bonus, you have a slightly harder barrier to entry than primedice, since you need to go off-site to achieve it - on prime dice you just solve a captcha. In addition, yours is a one-time bonus, so once its gone, its gone. On primedice you can keep reclaiming it every minute, which is excellent for keeping your players playing.

For ours you don't have to go offsite. You just click the "follow" and "tweet" button thats embedded in the site. It's faster than doing capcha. Our give way is 166x more than primedices per minute faucet. you will need to spend 3 hours straight doing capcha to get the same amount as we give in one go.

My mistake, I thought you needed to go off site for your deal.

That aside, yes your deal is much more substantial than primedice, the question you have to ask yourself is: am I getting the best results for the spend possible?

IMO primedice's deal will keep players playing much longer than yours will.

Yeah but we don't want people to keep playing on free money. The goal of the giveaway is really for them to test the site out without risking their own money. Although it's hard to tell exactly which is the best without a/b testing.
