Will your machines automatically reboot and start mining again after a power failure? I think this is an important feature. Because of the huge power draw (my modest setup is pulling 2 KW continuously from the mains), it isn't practical to run a UPS. At the same time, you don't want to have to run back to your mining installation if there is a power loss. The Ext4 filesystem can take it all in stride, but you need to modify a standard ATX PSU if you want it to power up without pressing the power button.
Yes. It powers on after AC loss, and begin generating at bootup automatically. All this box needs is a power cord and ethernet. Zero hassle. Plug it in and it mines. |

I don't see someone who is interested in a pre-built mining computer having the knowledge to run gui-less linux on one of these. I think the market for these exists with those who have little knowledge of how to build a computer, which mostly goes hand in hand with not knowing cli-linux.  <shrug> After years of building my own computers, I learned the value of pre-built computers with warranties and support. Plus, my own time has a cost. In my case, I find it more efficient to spend 20min finding the faulty component in a PC and RMA'ing to newegg than spending 1h+ on the phone with a Dell/HP/whatever Support Representative who insists on following his script before concluding there might be a problem with the PC. </true-experiences> |

Interesting project. Though a few questions for you:
1. Have you actually physically tried to assemble that 3x5970 system and actually mine with it for more than 10 minutes? Or is it more like a theoretical exercise?
...
The 5970 model is still in R&D, due for release next week. We won't launch it if it's not rock solid. |

Why is it that your prices are not in BTC? (...with the option to buy in fiat, of course)
I wouldn't deal with a merchant who wishes to profit from the Bitcoin economy, but continues to use fiat as a primary currency.
To me, indicates a lack of support commitment and belief in the long-term viability of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not very liquid when it comes to businesses like these. It works well for small stuff when you have all the capital in hand. Taking a fraction of the purchase price in BTC is the most optimal solution, IMO.

No modification to the PSU is required. If the motherboard is worth its salt, there is a BIOS setting that will allow the computer to restart upon sudden power loss. |

Looks like we're at the end of the 5970 era. With the 6990 just around the corner, we only have 2 dual-5970s rigs left in stock. Get them now before they're gone. It might be a while before the 6990 is available.

im new to bitcoin and i don't understand too many things, im trying to make my rig to mine but i don't know how to, its only says generating, the blocks, and the khash, but it doesn't seem to generate coins,
