Bitflyer Increases Bitcoin Adoption with Record Number of Users

Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Bitflyer reported a 100% increase in the number of its users in just the past four months, as the company continues to grow crypto adoption in Japan by partnering with major stores.

Bitflyer’s Customers Reach 2 Million

Japan’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume, Bitflyer, recently announced that the number of its customers in March has exceeded 2 million.

According to Minkabu publication, the number of Bitflyer users was 1 million in November and 600,000 in June of last year. The March number represents a 100% increase in the number of users at the exchange during the four-month period.

The significant growth seen by Bitflyer follows the payment services act which went into effect in Japan in April of last year. It legalizes cryptocurrency as a method of payment in the country. Other exchanges also experienced substantial growth. The recently hacked Coincheck, for example, revealed at a press conference on March 8 that its accumulated number of accounts on that date was approximately 1.7 million. Bitflyer has also recently expanded into the US as well as Europe.

So it only shows that more and more people are still going into crypto trading / investing. I still remember that I was part of Bitflyer sig campaign in the forum but it only lasted for 1 week.

Anyways, this is really welcoming news. We thought that crypto is dead already as shown by the price movement and the total marketcap, but on the other hand more and more people are trying to get their hands dirty on crypto trading and hope to hit the jackpot when crypto suddenly attempt another bull run and they don't want to miss it.

I still do not understand very well the exit of the binance of Japan. It is clear that the market of Japan is friendly to the Cryptocurrencies. It is one of the most important markets in the day to day. Each passing day Japan is closer to adopting cryptocurrency as a currency. Not just speculation. The number of people who know this market should be one of the largest percentages in the world. It has the biggest exchanges. Although I understand from the commercial point of view that to lay a flag in europe is very interesting, even more in a tax haven. Getting out of Japan like this left me with a lot of doubts about the seriousness and transparency of Binance.

This news has proved that  the Japanese are the leading force in term of bitcoin adoption in Asia, it is a welcome development to see Bitflyer setting the pace in exchange services  and  bringing cryptocurrencies closer to people I wonder why binance is having issues with FSA while Bitflyer is having a smooth ride.
