That was Gavin Andresen's faucet and it really was 5 BTC. It's from a time when Bitcoin didn't really have a value as it hadn't started to be used as a means of payment for goods and services. You might not know that wetsuit was a very early adopter of Bitcoin and he actually used that faucet.

The percentage of users who have disabled lottery tickets are those who don't believe that much in luck and believe more in the RP substituting them during the free roll as they think with RP accumulating good things can happen that are in their power like using those RP to buy Free Bitcoin bonus or other bonuses and do not rely on luck for such thing.

I am one of such persons and I got mad after not winning even a single time the lowest price in the lottery for 2 years that made me disable the lottery tickets during the free rolls,I believe many other persons think the same way as me when it comes to the lottery but that is just an assumption,we can't know for sure.

I have disabled tickets too. Sometimes I get some from WOF, but it is not a serious amount (on the other had, we see that any amount may be enough).
I think Lottery is the only part of Freebitco.in which does not require you to do any action. The rest is based on bets, where you make decision, or Multiply. For lottery - you just buy or receive tickets - and you may forget abut the rest. But if you prefer to do a conscious decisions, you may prefer to disable lottery and make better use of RP.
On the other hand, if you want to play big with betting etc, free rolls are just an pleasant add-on, because does not have a serious impact on your bankroll.

At the end of the day, 2010 prices was still under 1 dollar and was even in pennies. Maybe 5 bitcoin was still a higher return in dollar term than most what we have right now, but it was still a tiny baby that needed to grow and sharing it was a good idea. Even if it was like 10 cents per day (2 cents for bitcoin each, so 5 bitcoins equals 10 cents) at the time, that was still good because you would get 10 cents but you would share about it to people.

Faucets started by getting bitcoin more popular, that was the aim and yes ad income was a big deal but the early ones wanted to just let everyone have a tiny bit of bitcoin so that it would grow faster. This is why it makes sense.

It’s very attractive prizes. I know freebitcoin is always given lot of chances to win something, get something from their site as it is all free stuff!
However, there is only one thing that I don’t like much about it, the limits to reach the “minimum withdraw amount”. Earning free satoshi, Reward points could take up ages to earn. RP is like 100,000 minimum and it’s huge! For the lotteries and GT well that’s just another dimension.

This is very interesting moment - we must guess one week before, while just Russian occupation/invasion on Ukraine has begun and it could have very different consequences, like blocking access to SWIFT so maybe Russia will go into crypto. Who knows

It is never too late to start with something. Just put your belief in, spend your efforts for it, and never stop dreaming. The sudden change of Bitcoin price makes the bettors confused . Currently the highest amount of bets has been placed on 40k to 45k range. Even I have placed a bet on that range. But now I'm thinking to place bets on 35k to 37.5k range and 37.5k to 40k range. I will place the same amount of bet on those two ranges. It will be profitable if the price of Bitcoin stays between any of those three ranges at the end of February month.

I bet on 40,000-45,000 dollars as I think it will recover in these last 6 days of the month and honestly I didn't get why the price started going down during this time after the price had built quite well at 43,000-44,000 dollars.I highly doubt that the Bitcoin price will get out of these ranges during these last six days of this month and it is highly unlikely in my opinion for Bitcoin to close the month in less than 35,000 dollars as value.It needs a strong driver to do that and right now I don't see any.

I am in crypto since 2017 - 2018 and I used to claim a lot of faucets in the beginning (not only for bitcoins for a lot of altcoins). I remember times where I could claim 100 satoshis every 5 minutes but stopped doing it after a while as it seemed useless and not rewarding...

I just can't get myself to disable it. Because at the end of the day even one ticket could win and I know that and you know that and we all have seen that. Which means that there is a case to be made for any amount of ticket to be winning something big.

It means that every single week I am involved with a huge win possibility. Not that I have ever won anything, never been in the top 10 ever for the past 5 years and even with that in mind I still try to get it going on. That is not a great method I know but there is that tiiiiiny chance that I could end up with hundreds or even thousands of dollars and that is why I just can't get myself to stop it.
