Does anyone know what will happen to the Tyson / Jones bet?
It's finally a draw but it wasn't an option available on freebitcoin.

I think all bets will be lost as the end result is a draw. That seems the most logical to me.

I believe it was a friendly match and so I haven't seen it listed on any other casino except for Betnomi who specifically offered it as a promotion. I'm kind of glad it wasn't listed at other sites, who would've expected it to end up as a draw?

Also Adkinsbet listed this match. I was hesitating to place a small bet on the match (Tyson to win), but afterwards I am glad I didn't do it

This means that the site has no way to cheat on the choice of winner that they will favor.  All winners are randomly selected and have a method used to generate server seed per round.  You are also right that their betting is not contained in provably gaming... that is also my point.

That might be logical but it wouldn't be fair. Normally when sportsbooks offer a 2-way bet when a draw/tie is a remote possibility, in the event of a draw each side gets paid out 50% of the bet odds. In this case that would mean those that bet on Tyson would get back less then they bet. As we forgot to state the 50% payout rule in the Decision Logic section of the details we've decided just to refund the bet.

You're right that you can't make sports betting provably fair. As we offer parimutuel (player versus player) betting it doesn't make any difference to us who wins or loses so I've got no incentive for match-fixing  .

Yup, some sites like Facebook prompt if you'd want to receive notifications. It can always be disabled anything after enabling.

The time weight multiplier is a little bit misleading your 30.0 X means that you will receive 1.3 times what you wagered (BTC 0.01 X 1.3 = BTC 0.013) with the outcome of 4.5 giving an end result of BTC 0.0585.

Having said that however, the outcome odds will fluctuate until betting is closed - if you're quoting the after closing odds (and you bet on Joe Biden) then you should pick up BTC 0.0585 in the near future.

I was quoting the odds when I placed the bet. I'm not familiar with time weighted bets, more with bookies offering fixed odds.

The closing odds were 1.99 for Joe Biden. So my winnings are roughly 0.01*1.3*1.99= 0.02587. I expected something like 0.023 still not bad. Thanks.

In parimutual betting you are not betting against the house, you are betting against other people but obviously when you wager early with a lot higher amount odds (for example who will be the next president had like 10+ candidates and later only 2 so odds changed a lot) I assume it would have been a bit difficult to calculate without time weight. Think about it, you gamble so early that your bet looks like 35.00x odds but later on when it gets closer it is 1.8, how are you going to calculate that without the weight?

It means the earlier you wager (or maybe later, if the odd grows bigger later on) you are going to have better result but not a HUGE margin, where it ends up before the bet closed is the most important odd, after that you get that multiplier depending on when you gambled.

Exactly ! I had bet on Tyson and was wondering all the time what would happen with the bet. A few people told me that I will probably lose the amount since the match was draw and not a win.
I thought it to be a little unfair since betters didn't had the option to bet on a draw. I was thinking that freebitco.in would refund everybody their bets and that's what happened.

We usually do include the draw option but when draws are very unlikely we sometimes use the 50% of bet odds option instead. It was just an oversight in forgetting to write that bit in decision logic section this time.

Draw was very unexpected, I think its because of being an exhibition match and that elevates that possibility.    I went with the underdog as I said at the time Tyson had too much name recognition and had swung too much in the odds to be good value considering anything can happen.     Just in my own estimations I think I was right in my bet as it was so close and odds didnt reflect that.  Its good to hear normally it would have given some small profit even with the draw, so I'll bear that in mind for next time.   Seems like Tyson will fight again, maybe it'll be a rematch of these two not sure.

The weird thing about freebitco.in is the fact that they are definitely different compared to 2015 on how they are managed, with new stuff and more marketing and all that, however at the same time they are the same thing as well, they haven't really done any design work so someone who has been here 5 years ago can still come in and find where is what and see that the faucet page is literally the same page after 5 years.

I have always said that a great design overhaul is much needed but at the same time they are getting hundreds of bitcoins wagered here every single day so that means maybe people do not agree with me at all. Sometimes simple and persistent can work, remember it is not the power of water that cuts through rocks, it is the persistence of it.

I'm not too sure about that; dead heat rules usually apply when there's 2 winners for whatever reason, like 2 horses ending the race with the exact same time. I don't think it makes too much sense to use dead heat rules when the fight ended in a draw, and most books just void the bets on the Winner market that doesn't include the draw.
