What is this about? We don't have this day over here Shocked

If you're American it's like the 4th of July but for UK history there's this guy called Guy Fawkes ( Who was Catholic I think and if I remember right he had problems with the protestant Christians ) who tried to blow up parliament with gunpowder and for some reason that turned into a celebratory thing over here, I don't know much about the history Cheesy just the boring school version.
