Yes, Germany has legalized bitcoin and crypto currency few weeks back, so no wonder that GNTB has decided to accept it, because bitcoin is an official tender in Germany. The part I like the most is the mention about innovation. I have been saying this similar thing since a long time. We should not take bitcoin and blockchain protocol just as a payment system. It has far better and broader use in our daily lives. Until some country or some company decides to invest in research and Development activity of blockchain, it will not progress. Since Germany has now accepted and legalized bitcoin, I hope that German government will do something about it. Blockchain technology can bring transparency to the entire social economy and reduce the individual burdens. I am glad that Germany is thinking seriously about it and since it is one of the strongest economy of the world, it will have some real positive impact in near future.

This news gives me hope. Germany always plays a key role in group of twenty (G20). And G20 members will have a disscussion about cryptocurrencies in July and probably it is supposed to regulate cryptocurrecies. Germany might convince other countries to accept bitcoin.

I’ve been trying to check if bitcoin payment is already implemented but I can’t. I see no payment option on the site. It’s like a travel guide but it leads you to external sites, like the Opera, or Museums but I can’t see a place where they charge for their services.

If I am not completely mistaken, this is a B2B platform, so not meant beeing a online shop, where you have any payment options. Lieferando.de is another example, which is a B2C platform, where you can also see, bitcoin as payment option directly on the webside.

Germany is regulated everything concerning cryptocurrency long time ago,and with a few others countries in Europe it is considered very friendly country when it comes to BTC.I think their law about buying and selling BTC is the dream of every investor,if you buy and hold for 1 year or more there is no tax to be pay in case of sale. Also few weeks ago they decided to not extra tax any purchase in BTC. That's why I'm not surprised that such a large travel agency decide to accept BTC as a means of payment. When the government regulates all related to cryptocurrency, then it is easy for anyone to start some business-you know your rights and obligations and there are no unpleasant surprises. I’ve been trying to check if bitcoin payment is already implemented but I can’t. I see no payment option on the site. It’s like a travel guide but it leads you to external sites, like the Opera, or Museums but I can’t see a place where they charge for their services.
I also check their English version of site, but there is no news in connection to BTC.I think it's all still in a test phase or that the website has not yet received the update.

First there was Japan, but Japan is far away from Europe. Now it's Germany, which has a great influence in the European Union, so I also hope that this will help the mass adoption of bitcoin and the blockchain systems. German regulations can be a standard for other countries, if they don't want to create their own rules, because those regulations are not too strict.

Germany might convince other countries to accept bitcoin.
They don't have to "convince". They are one of the powers of EU and just by doing/allowing that can set a trend in other countries. And they've already started by leaving tax-free the purchases done with Bitcoin. The future is bright, the future is Bitcoin

so I also hope that this will help the mass adoption of bitcoin
Everything in the end helps giving Bitcoin more overall exposure, but the main shift that we are waiting for, which is people actually using their coins aside from speculation purposes, will still not happen. I don't know when that time will come, but it's not going to be an easy achievement, and may take years before we even see a noticeable difference in mentality. People only think about hoarding Bitcoin, and not spending it. Who's going to spend his coins, aside from change, on goods? Merchants thinking to bank on Bitcoin's popularity by accepting it as payment option will face a massive surprise when they experience barely any Bitcoin revenue. These merchants then will blame the lack of popularity being the main reason, where they completely ignore the nature of this market. The only way to attract potential Bitcoin revenue is when you offer great discounts.

The future is bright, the future is Bitcoin I do accept the fact that what Germany has done with bitcoin related tax is a very big thing for their citizens and if that is true it is a huge news coming out from a developed country but i do not expect the same things coming out from other countries too, i am not sure why they kept bitcoin in a tax free zone but to hear news about new ventures accepting bitcoin is always a positive thing for bitcoin enthusiast.
