Hello,

I'm kind of new to bitcointalk forums but a bit more knowledgable in bitcoins in general, Been lurking for a while and decided to finally jump in. Started mining a year ago but stopped after a while when difficulty rise started eating into my electricity build (only mined as a bonus from having an ati 7850).  I know all this isn't useful so lets add some context to this thread.

Do you think the newbie restrictions (1 post, 4 hours uptime) are needed or are useful to be mandatory? Personally i dont see a use for them since anyone can post a "Hello" thread and be free.

Yes.

1. 4 Hours wait time are to much for many guys that just want to troll.
2. Spam Bots are limited to this area.
3. And most important. Many Newbies are signing up because of a general Problem or question. Without the restrictions we would have the same recurring questions in the general  Discussion Board again and again.

Think of this Part of the Forum as a "Beginners & Help" Board, rather than a Prison. If you don't have a urgent matter 4 hours are quickly over.

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

Prison was on overstatement, i agree  Grin

1. Agreed.
2. I think its bypassable by bots (copying "hello" threads and adding their username)
3. Kinda agree.

I'm in no rush to get out, just thought it was worth discussing Smiley

Thanks for your reply.

4 hours is just one time wait. And it also make the forum a little harder from trolls and spammer.

Welcome and thank God for the restrictions. If it were not for the restrictions this already chaotic forum would be much worse. I know it feels bad when you are the one being held back but this time is shortly over and then you have earned the right to be a contributing member to the forum.
