What I see from this situation is that although the prices are probably not going to go up on a grand scale. There may be small rebounds after dumps, but they don't really matter or change the bearish trend anyways.

However, I think that we may have saw the temporary end to this dump. The entire week has been bearish, and the bottom was near. It could be possible that the $6k bottom held its ground, and BTC is now on its way up for a rebound temporarily.

If you're looking to sell, wait for price to recover to around $7.7-7.8k in the short term before selling. If you're a long term holder, investing now wouldn't be a bad idea since you're literally getting a discount of 60-70% from last December when everyone was saying to invest in BTC for the long term.

I wouldn't like the idea of small rebounds as in the long term perspective it will still go down. This bounce plays are technically for people who are into buying and selling in the dips as they are looking for accumulating more Bitcoin in the process. But if this will continue in the long term I don't think Bitcoin will recover in 2018. 5900$ might not be our lowest point for 2018 if this trend will continue, right now the market is bearish overall and that possibility is strong.

well, that is what you get when we have a huge altcoin market pump that lasted for a very long time. all the altcoins were pumped and on top of that there were lots of new shitcoins created from forking bitcoin to all these ETH tokens that are being created every day. that bloats the total market cap into fake bubble territory and it will burst as the altcoins get dumped.
it may also crash bitcoin price as these altcoins get dumped all together.

Well we all know that after the December madness, there are a lot of newbie investors who got burned. And as for the last 3 months of so, there are a lot of experienced traders who doesn't want to hold that long seeing how volatile the market is. Every dips they buy and when we thought that we are out of the woods, they immediately dump  talking small margin of profits. Plus the FUD really added fuel to the fire that those who are in for the long haul, just decided to sell off and probably not coming back anytime soon. Personally though, another perfect time for those who have been in the game for so long. Purchase it when the price is at a discount then sold when it bounce back. $7,100 is really quite cheap so I don't know why people are still no jumping in today.

you dont need to have our opinion about what to do,because it will only give you reason to blame someone from mistakes..i guess youre not a newbie the way you delivered this topic and question..i would rather give my own stand in this matter that i am holding still even though i am in loss of more than 50% of catipal.since my trust for this coin is indeed,i am willing to wait until some good speculations happens

No, best thing to do is to hold till the next bull season comes by.

If that's not possible for you, then sell when the market recovers to around ~$8000. I believe that is going to happen soon, since we've bottomed out at $6730 today and we've already recovered $500 per coin within a few hours.

I don't believe there to be much point selling below $7000 because that is pretty much the buy target of a lot of people. You're literally selling into the eager buyers hands, and you yourself will probably buy back once the next bull market starts happening and regret your decision. With market cap already below $300 billion it shouldn't drop that much further. I've said in another post I think lowest BTC will go is around $3k. This is why I believe in long term holding, sometimes you are tempted to sell at prices so damn low, yet you're not willing to sell when prices are skyrocketing.

Selling during a dip is probably not sensible unless you are expecting the price to crash and never rise again.  And also not sensible is to buy during a high price.  If you are determined to buy then buy low not high.  What is low.  Well I think now it's quite low but it could go lower.  I thought during the last crash it would go lower but it didn't.  This time not sure.

this is not the first time that bitcoin price drop terrible.'cause indeed since the price rocketded last year it always swing back to the lowest value , but it will never go to $0 'cause the fact it always gain more and survive after the worst situation.  so why selling ? this is not the first time that bitcoin price drop terrible.'cause indeed since the price rocketded last year it always swing back to the lowest value , but it will never go to $0 'cause the fact it always gain more and survive after the worst situation.  so why selling ? Just keep it up mate don't give up to avoid loses on it. 

Why look so far? This year there was a period when the price of bitcoin fell below 6000 dollars. But for me this is not an indicator. I know that the price of bitcoin will rise but you need to trust and wait. Anyone who sells bitcoin for $ 7000 will buy it for $ 10,000. This time the price rise will be very fast. No one has time to react.

Yeah the poisoned chalice of holding is the natural instinct to regret unrealised profits at past prices, coupled with the knowledge that many alts would have given far better value.

Which is why, if you're holding, don't pay attention to everything else around bitcoin. That's just white noise til you meet your end point years from now.

I'm selling whatever I need whenever I need. When I'm lucky I sell at a top. When not so lucky, I gotta sell at a dip, like what I had to do today.

The price isn't terribly low, it is just about fair, and that's it. If we're talking about something that's terribly low, then it has to be anything below the $3000 level.

My current view on the price;

$7000-$7500 = 'actual' short term value.
$6000-$6500 = interesting buying opportunity.
$5999 and below = buy as many coins as you can.

I managed to scoop up some coins just under the $6700 level, and will plan my next buying action as soon as the price dips under the main bottom of $6000, of course if it happens to fall down that much. If not, then no problem, I'll enjoy the ride up to wherever it may go. I'm utilizing my opportunities to the fullest, which is exactly what you in these situations should be doing.

We should wait for one or two months automatically crypto market is going to normal. Yes, I also saw it, it bounce back to $7100 and I thought that we somewhat recovered but dip again. So we are really struggling, but as what most of you guys says, its good to at least scoop some more bitcoin at the current price and just hold.

As for Ethereum, yeah its also struggling and I think it was hit much worst than bitcoin in my opinion,  just last January it rode into another all time high, as bitcoin is sliding, Ethereum keeps on going up, however, later this bloodbath caught up with Ethereum and everyone has suffered from this bearish trend.

The best thing one can do right now in this downfall is to wait it all out before something definite comes to light. For those who can afford to shell out some extra cash, buying wouldn't hurt if you're capable of waiting for the next few weeks. With this kind of selloff, the lower part of the food chain (weak hands) often bail out thinking that it is the best thing to do in order to avod further losses while the patient ones tend to bear the beatings and didn't lose faith along the way. It's easy to stay optimistic but harder to stay rational especially if you're losing money along the way.

Bitcoin has fallen below the $7,600 mark for the first time since March 19. Earlier today, the price of bitcoin dropped to $7,530, after peaking at $8,150 less than 20 hours ago.

As of this post, bitcoin is sitting on 6823 USD price according to preev and somehow I think it is a good sign that bitcoin is not dropping fast compared to the bearish trend it has shown way back after the gox incident. This is a good indicator that history would not repeat itself and a great sign of bitcoin's resilience. For now, the best thing to do right now if one haven't sold yet is to hold, although that is the case, I think this isn't the best time to buy some coins.
