Thanks for doing this. I tried adding my site (Coinality.com) but it said that the site was already listed under the "Exchanges" categories (Coinality is a job board, not an exchange). Anywho, I wasn't able to find the site anywhere on BitcoinBarrel.com.

Google doesn't have a problem with exchanging links or with link directories unless the links are spam/low quality. Our website is ranked well on Google for a variety of Bitcoin-related search terms with positive SEO so it won't hurt to link with us. As long as you choose your link partners wisely you'll be fine. We will only be approving legitimate sites with original content.

This, I think google is against purposeful link building to some extent, but sharing your website on a relevant regardless of the receiving sites format should be alright.

As long as you post original content you'll be fine. Forum signatures could be considered a "Link Scheme" but Google is alright with that.
