"
most I've noticed, even before I turned off signatures is girls/women/guys acting like cute girls doing this.

something like:
oh I'm just a girl!
Could u pwetty pwease give me er gimmee sum wittle bitcoins? he he!

everytime I see that, I imagine some fat kid wearing a mickey mouse cap on the other end of the address.

demanding and begging is two completely different things you chimp!
Either I hurt your feelings with my comment or you just want to be right.
so which is it?
Let me guess, in this scenario you weasel your way out of it and choose another option!
Yet now you have nothing to base your argument on, unless you just want to argue some more.

I will provide this, for a fee.

I wasn't arguing. I was making light of the fact that you dissed people for begging in their sigs, while stating you had turn off your ability to see them AND you are doing the same girley thing in yours. Demanding/begging is the same thing from someone with no power to enforce the "demand".

I was under the impression originally that you might have forgotten to delete your sig but I now see you just have some kind of attitude problem.

Good Day Sir.

Not the same at all. Unless that hobo is also a day trader, and is asking for some free stock on wall street.

for 7 years I have survived on juggling/contact-jugglin/busking.  I had a tip hat out.

THIS IS NOT BEGGING.

Now, due to multiple sclerosis, I cannot juggle/contact-juggle/busk.  Nor do I beg, I simply have one of my addresses posted in my sig.

fuck off

Greetings all,

At this point in this thread I'd like to be strait up with everyone.

I have officially demoted myself to a pan-handler and am outright begging for BTC.

For the Love of God men, help a brother out!

If someone helps me with something I have been having trouble with for a while, I would like to see his address in his signature. we all know what those numbers are in the signature, no need to say...if you like my reply or whatever...

What really annoys me is the people asking for loans...how stupid do they think we are? Need a loan go to a bank so they can check your repayment history and credit score...If you do not have a credit card or an account to borrow money from, why should we be the ones to lend it to you?

why everyone would start putting up tip addresses in the first place.

Because the type of person who has earned money by slapping a video card in his computer, installing a program, and letting it run is also the type of person who'd think his own dumb forum posts should be worth money, too. Starting up a miner takes two clicks, but even in a short post like this I'm pressing literally hundreds of keys. Naturally I should be compensated for this labor.

I doubt that only miners feel the need to put a donation in their signatures... but I wish I could see fancy charts on such a thing.

some of the most helpful people dont really put up donation adresses, because they understand that it is "advertising". and typically smart people understand that its not good in many cases. for example, Ubuntu, you have to hunt down a way to donate to them. i don't know if you can donate anymore, because they technically are a profitable business.

I'm not trying to discount your post, but finetuning a miner takes more than a couple clicks and keystrokes, it can take hours of tweaking settings

Of course, you can slap a miner on and go to town, which is what I initially did, I was pretty happy with 130MH/s.... but now that I'm getting 301MH/s I realize that was kind of stupid.... and I could finetune it futher, I haven't really messed with exact clock speeds yet, some day in the future I might

Yeah... that link sure is hidden... "ubuntu donate" + I'm feeling lucky = http://www.ubuntu.com/community/get-involved/donate

It's not like having an address in the forum sig hurts anyone, so why do you care.  I find it much less annoying than the large banner ads for pyramid schemes.

my question was this, do you see anywhere on the front page of ubuntu where it says "donate" or something. the fact is, you still used google to find the link, and that proves my point.
