So this is just impossible to get in Australia. After one in mint condition. Don’t want it graded and slabbed. I’m just gonna throw it (carefully) into an air-Tite.
Alternatively i’ll Pay someone in the US to receive the coin, then send it to me. Say $50-ish in bitcoin? If all goes well I’m all for continuing biz too.
I was all set to buy it directly from APMEX... then realised being a Proof coin the GST (sales tax) exemption wouldn’t apply. Which is ridiculous considering it technically still IS .9999 fine gold just like “investment grade bullion” and there’s already going to be an Import tax as it goes through Aus Customs as it’s worth more than $1000 AUD.
I can’t possibly stomach paying:
1) the premium on this beautiful coin
2) import entry fee to UPS/Fedex for items over $1000 AUD (50ish)
3) import tax for items over $1000 AUD (100ish)
4) AND now Goods and Services tax (10%!)
So I’ll get it shipped to you, then you send/insure it to me in Aus but declared as 1oz gold bullion. Just a little white lie. I’m still paying 1, 2, and 3 (and of course shipping/insurance) but with your help I won’t be violated a fourth time.
I really don’t want to spend extra yet again on escrow so super trusted ppl who have come through on countless valuable deals only if that’s cool. (Obviously I can’t risk sending an ounce of gold to someone who’s built their trust up on a few small trades). Send em a link to this thread if you know someone.
