This big dumps of bitcoin comes from the decreasing number of demand. The supply is already max but the demand is getting low. And majority of the investor dont sells their bitcoin now but there are some people who scared thats why they dump some of their coins.

It is currently worth less because it is low Bitcoin. Bitcoin's price has been reduced so the seller is more than the buyer.

The investor in crypto-currencies and the co-founder of the well-known analytical company Fundstrat believes that the market will fall to a minimum on the day after paying taxes in the US. A large analyst with Wall Street, crypto-currency investor and co-founder of the research company Fundstrat Tom Lee believes that the "massive outflow" of capital from the digital market money can accelerate on the eve of April 17, this is the last day of paying taxes in the US, reports CNBC. Tom Lee noted that American traders and investors owe the state $ 25 billion for operations with digital money. Exchanges will also have to pay taxes on time, so they can start selling actively crypto currency in the coming days, this will negatively affect the cost of digital money. "We believe that the pressure on the market creates a crypto exchange, which is required to pay income tax in the US jurisdiction. Net income of exchanges for 2017 is equal to or exceeds $ 1 billion. At the same time, their working capital is concentrated in bitcoin and etherium, and not in USD. Accordingly, in order to fulfill their tax obligations, they sell BTC / ETH, "the expert believes. The specialist added that "historical estimates indicate that the outflow of each dollar is reflected in the fall in the market capitalization of the Crypto-currency at $ 20-25." In the first three months of 2018, the total capitalization of the market decreased by 50%, for bitcoin and ether it was the most unfortunate period in history. "The risk of directed actions by regulators is still substantial. The mood remains awful. According to our estimate of the bitcoin poverty index, the situation remains disastrous. Ultimately, we are counting on the fact that bitcoin will find the bottom after April 17, the last day of tax payment, "said Tom Lee. Earlier, the expert made a forecast about the course of the first crypto currency. In his view, the price of BTC will reach $ 91,000 by March 2020. In January 2018, when the bitcoine price dropped to $ 9,000, the analyst said that the coin would rise in price to $ 25,000 by the end of the year.

The low prices or fluctuations we have been having all these while is as a result of government policies that are targeted at cryptocurrency transactions like exchange houses, ICO events, etc. It would not last long. Things would soon stabilize.

I also wonder why bitcoin drops even further as to why this is the bitcoin price. It is true that the prediction is said in december that bitcoin falls to 5k $ before climbing again and their prediction end of 2018 is at 60k $ per bitcoin. I still read a lot about why the price has fallen so far as bitcoin's price rises much to the satisfaction and no complaints. The only thing I can say in this world of crypto is that it also circles around what's happening. The year 2017 has grown considerably but this year's 2018 is also a big fall.

The price has dropped by more than 25% in the Indian exchanges after the central bank has said that it'll ban all banking entities to stop dealing with crytpocurrencies.

This too may have contributed to the sudden drop. For the first time, the price in INR is less than the international price..

Tough, exciting times ahead to learn the trade of a true cypherpunk. We shall resist!! Cool

The US Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) presence in investigating bitcoin and other cryptocurrency exchanges led to a reduction in bitcoin prices as part of an investigation

Nobody can say why the price is dropping. As I think, this is correction that community was waiting after BTC price went higher than level $ 10,000. But after that we saw how it raised to $ 20,000 instead of correction.

Because the whales need it. Also, many funds and financial institutions are beginning to enter bitcoin. You think they're gonna buy it for $ 20,000? No. Everything will be arranged so as to buy bitcoin at the lowest possible price.

Well there are various factors that affect bitcoin's price. Currently there is a news that RBI( Reserved Bank of India) has banned bitcoin, which might be contributing a lot to the drop in bitcoin's price as there are a lot of people who might be panic selling from India. So, the demand for bitcoin is going down. But I think it will soon increase.

The price of bitcoin has dropped as investors nowadays are not the same as non investors, so the price is too high.

there is no conflicts, decreasing bitcoin today caused by a system that can not survive when bitcoin gets shocked. because of the big attack power of those who hate bitcoin.

did you know that bitcoin is now a zombie? because previously bitcoin ever experienced death 101 times.
so, I think bitcoin will last for a long time after this year's drops.

I believe what is happening right is price correction and compare to last year's date it is still high. This is due to news and speculations made by investors in which they control the price by making a small pump in price and of course people who are greedy invest not knowing what bitcoin is and now the price of bitcoin comes back to its original because they will not gain in any sort other than simply buying and selling it.

The current bearish dip is something that is mostly happening oftentimes where I think this is just a priced adjustment and another thin could be due to whale investor manipulation that had contributed to this scenario. Another factor could be that people especially the newcomers could have been in panic mode where they sell their coins at a low cost. More supply of btc and a bit less demand is what I understand on the current situation however, I think this will not last long and will revert back for a recovery in the coming weeks.

Perceptive factors also affect the price of Bitcoin. If Bitcoin gets a better perception, Bitcoin's demand will increase. Followed by the increasing price of Bitcoin. Conversely, if Bitcoin get a bad perception, Bitcoin prices will go down.

The original surge to $10k was likely a "pump and dump" scheme by a single well capitalized player on Wall Street or in China. That buyer ignited a frenzy, patiently waited, and then dumped his position at or near the peak which sent all of the frenzy investors tumbling out. So we're essentially just back where Bitcoin should be priced based on it's natural progression -- ~$5k/BTC. And that pumper is now a lot richer. We see this pattern all the time in Altcoins.
