The main aim of blockchain is decentralization in every respect. People who truly believe in this technology will always go for the most decentralised coin, which is bitcoin. Centralization and pure manipulation take crypto back to the level of fiat.
Exactly. That was the main purpose why blockchain was introduced with Bitcoin in the first place. Nakamoto wanted to create a system which eliminates the middleman or central control, to give the power back to the people. As such, the first ever application of the blockchain was in a decentralized manner called Bitcoin. Taking out the true value proposition of the blockchain such as decentralization and immutability, one would create a system that is easily manipulated by third parties with a single point of failure. Ripple is one good example of a centralized system, which makes it no different than fiat currencies controlled by central banks and governments.
On the other hand, decentralized cryptocurrencies will tend to become stronger and resilient against external attacks over time, because people support them. Since they're permission-less systems, anyone can join or leave the network at will without the authorization of a central authority or even a company like Ripple does. Therefore, decentralized cryptocurrencies will always win, as they experience constant demand by everyday individuals from anywhere on Earth, while centralized "cryptocurrencies" will fail in the future. Just my thoughts
