FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) in the cryptocurrency community is the term for any strategy intended to make a coins (for example bitcoin) insecure about future product plans with the purpose of discouraging them from buying or investing them. This FUD usually is shared through a media social, government, and any groups. Many of people who shared the FUD with any purpose, they hope the price is down and they can buy them at dip price.

I don't mean to be rude, but you're asking for a defenition of a word that is used all around the globe, it's been used (amongst others) for microsoft scare tactics, so please don't litter the forum with these questions... They have very little to do with bitcoin, so they certainly don't belong in the bitcoin discussion subforum.

I still doubt that govts trying to regulate Bitcoin is all a FUD though since govts really need to do some sort of regulation if they want to continue receiving taxes from their citizens. This is the latest big scare which I think is legit.

We can not avoid such events as much as the novice in the crypto even if the pro is brought to the bad news produced by other people. To avoid looking for a proper mentor, trustworthy should be that they can ask you if you have any other news you read as well because you can not help him all the time that everyone is reading the news.

FUD is basically anything negative about a coin.  Even legitimate issues raised with a project is FUD these days.
For example, a certain coin uses MD5 hashing which is breakable and generates private keys based on the time of day. This means your coins are not secure. Raising this to supporters of said coins is FUD, despite the fact that these are legitimate red flags.

Mostly because of these people, especially the newbies here in the market, sells their coins/tokens being afraid to lose their investments and to cut their losses. I hate it because I know that the government can only do such fake news and do give feedbacks on cryptocurrencies.
