Hi everyone,
I've been lurking as a guest here for over a year and decided it was finally time to join the party now that registration has been enabled again.
My background is in mostly sys/network admin. I'm specifically interested in the potential in bitcoin for more than just individual transactions and savings - things like multi-sig, contracts, etc. But the "basics" of this cryptocurrency still impresses me when I stand back for a moment and see how far it has progressed already.
I tinkered in early-mid 2012, CPU mined some "change", then got distracted with every day life and didn't dedicate much time to it. I was reminded again in April this year when I overheard a work-mate saying "wow did you see bitcoin went to $260 today?". Since then I followed the growth of the system and developments of ASIC mining hardware, but decided stay off that bandwagon...
I'm currently working on a few ideas to push adoption in my local area, but that is a separate topic entirely. In the meantime I dabble with a bit of BTC/fiat trading to stay "hands-on" until I can get momentum on a project that has more practical use in the bitcoin economy.
In time, hopefully I can contribute to some of the technical discussions on here.
Cheers!
