I really think Vladimir Putin has an authority to really sue google, But like all other guys in here I really think this is just for April's fool what I'm saying is if there would have a big problem with the economy of russia because of the banning I think Putin will have to take actions, But Yes it can be a joke even if google have ban all ICO that could not be a big problem because ICO can not be stop by just google alone there are many more things we can provide great help in spreading and advertising certain ICO's.

Really?
And what makes Putin so special that he has the authority to do that?

Vladimir Orehov, not Putin Wink

Not that it changes anything, but next thing we know there'd be rumours all over the place about Putin running ICOs.

Well, maybe he does >_>

Anyone can sue anyone, the problem is how to win in court.
And with those claims and without a real rapport showing the impact on their business and the loss they stand a chance of getting a penny, let alone a decision from the court that would require google to host ICO ads.

To make things even more silly, even if it impacted their business, what's that to the courts? Google is neither violating any rights nor is it abusing its market dominance to its own advantage. Even Orehov's argument is more a statement of entitlement than anything else:

The Russian crypto entrepreneur says the ban will deprive him of opportunities to invest in crypto projects and also find other investors willing to support his business plans. Orehov wants to be compensated for the “moral damage” caused by the ban and insists on its lifting.

What's next? Guy sues Tinder for the "moral damage" of not getting laid?

Hi,

Your title and your post are saying two different things...   Undecided

Has Google been sued (that is to say accused and potentially brought in front of a Court, but not necessarily proven guilty) or charged (that is to say proven guilty and ask to pay a certain amount of money)? What is the situation actually?

If Google really has been charged after being proven guilty... Well, I may not like the Russian system, I would admire this country for being able to make Google finally pay. They are making so many actions everywhere, depriving people from what they should have (taxes in all countries that they should pay to the government), they should be paying. A lot.

There's no need to file charges on google for their move. They're just protecting their users, especially those who are not very knowledgeable to scams. Besides, if your project is really promising, you don't need mainstream media to promote it. Just like bitcoin.

It is Google to decide whom to ban or whom to allow business in it's portals.  This is also being done to prevent fraudulent scamming  ICOs.  This action is much in favor of innocent investors whose money is being taken away by fraudsters.

I think this is more just a pr stunt from those guys to attract investors on their ICOs.
And no, unfortunately, this is no April joke, it would have been far better if it was one.

vladimir does have a valid argument and Google imposing this ban deprives many other businesses and not only in Russia and depending on the outcome of this case more companies could come forward which will cost these guys even more money. Hope they will reverse this decision to save themselves the settlements that are yet to come.

That's not a valid argument.
If you run a store and somebody comes and tell you they want you to sell their weapons through it, are you free to refuse? Google already has banned tobacco ads and no one was stupid enough to go against it.
And the tobacco industry spends a sum that equals the market cap of Litecoin on ads each year.

A well known person and the president of Russia and Forbes Top 1 of The World's Most Powerful People since 2016, He could really start a war if he would like to, But then again there is no point in doing such things just because google have ban ICO's, And That is what I think why Vladimir can really have such an authority to do it, But again I really think he would never do such things, And I just assume it is a joke because I'd never seen any news involve these But in fact it can not be take as a joke as well.

He is the presidents of a country with a GDP per capita the same as Turkey and overall on pair with Australia.
Putting himself in the first line in an economic battle right now would be a feat worthy of FailArmy biggest Fail of the year. There is a limit to stupidity, even in Russia.

And as Heretik pointed out ....get their names right.
Not every Russian is named Putin.

This step taken by GOOGLE for the sincere, serious and innocent investors is really commendable. We should support them in this action in order to make scammers suffer. They should be punished heavily if they are every caught for scamming innocents. There is no drawback of crypto currencies but the only problem people are facing is getting scammed online. It is a great hindrance for interested investors.
