Some investors/traders prefer to invest on ICO and all money will pour into that market. So better look for a good project that you need to hodl and be ready for a big rewards as soon they get listed on several exchange better to keep your data on your email coz some ICO's required to pass KYC rules.

Tether will also be the best alternative to secure an investment or trading because it was back with $1. There fore, in this down market season I will transfer all my coin into tether and reverse back when the market is good.

Mostly people cashout into btc, eth or usdt, some people do sell their holdings to their local exchanger and receive their local currency in hand against the coins they transfer to the exchanger, personally i keep my assets in btc or eth when i cashout and i also use local exchanger if i need hard cash.

Stick with the USD of course, then buyback from the bottom get cheaper bitcoins which should be used to buy more cheap altcoins, this will give you a lot of profits because if you bought these cheap altcoins with 30-40% off than their usual prices it could give you a lot of profits when the market has finally got recovered from these bloody market.

According to me investing into XVG coins is the best option when cryptocurrency is down. Thie specialality of this coin is if they going down XVG will falls in big dip. If the market goes up it increases faster then any other coin.

When crypto starts to head down, where do most people move their tokens to?

I've been following (DGD) > https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/digixdao/ as it is backed by gold. I find it a little amusing that even cyptocurrency is flocking to gold backed coins in bad times. I've gotten completely out of the market since the blood bath began into Darico.io. It's backed by 35% Gold so its going to retain its value. (also backed by ETH and BTC)
