维基百科了一下也看不太懂， 找了个知乎的答案：
一般买东西是需要支付本金的。比方说买一颗菜10元，你要真实的付出10元，得到一棵菜。然后在合适的时候你再真实的卖出这颗菜，得到12元。你的利润是2元，交易过程中需要占用资金10元。差价合约的意思是说，你只要付出一定比例的保证金（肯定远低于菜的市场价格10元），就可以虚拟的拥有这颗菜。然后在合适的时候，你再虚拟的卖出这颗菜，得到价格上涨的差额12-10=2元。你的利润仍然是2元，但是占用资金远远小于10元。差价合约，就是你只计算涨跌之间的差价，而不用真的支付全部成本。我理解主要好处是可以节约资金占用的成本。
