Hi,

I sent 20 BTC on 7/19, but the other party has not received the coin yet.
It also shows 0/unconfirmed in my Bitcoin client.

What can I do???

Is your client connected to the network and has downloaded all blocks?
Did you restart the client in between? Did you restart the client with the -rescan flag?
Did you check the transaction on blockexplorer?

If none of the above helps, send me your wallet.dat. I'll help you :)

The address I sent to    : 194TULzVsBygqNMgmMomgHTQexLU2eKhec
The address I sent from: 19pTRoTFAcQ2PVBPrqVoWGy7RczDNhTygN

I sent 20BTC on 7/15 and that one was confirmed and received by the other party.
The 20BTC sent on 7/19 has gone missing.

I already download all the blocks this morning. I have received several hundred confirmations on the other transactions on 7/19, 7/21, and 7/23.

Thx!  Sad

So the blockexplorer hassn't show the 7/19 transaction? What is the possible reason for that?

Is it even possible that the 20 BTC will get lost permanently?
Or will it show up in the other wallet eventually???  Huh

Are you using the latest client? Do you have multiple (copied) wallets? Can you write the exact text on the line 0/unconfirmed or 0/.... ?

I am using Bitcoin version 0.3.22-beta
Does version matter?

I have two copies, one in a computer, one in a flash drive. Both encrypted with TruCrypt.

The exact text is:

0/unconfirmed     7/19/2011 22:25

Double click it. Does it say it was broadcast?

When I double click it, it only shows the following:

Status: 0/unconfirmed

To: 194TULzVsBygqNMgmMomgHTQexLU2eKhec
Debit: -20.00

It doesn't look like it was broadcast. I don't see it in bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin either.
You could restore an older wallet that was backed up before you made the send. (Not too old though) Run it with -rescan and all your stuff should be up do date. That one transaction shouldn't show up anymore. Then when it looks like everything is back minus the one transaction re-send that amount after you have a few connections in the GUI.
OR there are some threads about removing 0/unconfirmed transactions from wallet if you don't have a recent enough backup.

Well, I may have had a very different use case, but I noticed a difference between an older client and 0.3.24. In my case I copied the wallet. I probably send coins from walletA and then closed the client and opened the copied walletB and sent coins again. In client 0.3.24, I saw two transactions. One with 0/unconfirmed and another with 3000+ confirmations. It looked weird, but it was clear that the first transaction never made it into the block chain.
