Thorkil Værge, head of Sirius Money, has pledged €1,000 (6.8 BTC) to Hanneche, who is undertaking the challenge to travel alone to both poles in a single year. He also says if Hanneche manages to raise more than 15 BTC, he will carry a bitcoin flag with him, if one can be made before his departure from South Africa on November 5th. Thorkil Værge, head of Sirius Money, has pledged €1,000 (6.8 BTC) to Hanneche, who is undertaking the challenge to travel alone to both poles in a single year. He also says if Hanneche manages to raise more than 15 BTC, he will carry a bitcoin flag with him, if one can be made before his departure from South Africa on November 5th I am sure that his departure date will be a date worth remembering. |

Any suggestions? If there's an appropriate flag available, I will pay all shipping cost to make sure it gets there in time. Find a flag. Agree on the flag. Just reread the article, and it looks like ~$3,000 USD is needed for him to haul a flag to the South Pole. If that's the case, then we're ~$1K USD short, but seriously don't see a problem with that goal being reached. Having a flag shipped in time is probably not too much of an issue if only WE HAVE A BITCOIN FLAG. I'm covering the cost of shipping. If a flag maker needs funded, then that shouldn't be too much of a problem either. ~TMIBITW |

Note to self: Never take a trip with Goat. First he wants to go to the South Pole in the winter, now believes the expedition starts in Chile. Having planted his native Valencia’s flag, and a French Tricolor at the north pole, he now expects to do the same at the South, leaving from Cape Town on November 5th and crossing Antarctica to arrive in Chile 80 days later. Although having it delivery to Cape Town by Monday afternoon is an impossibility, I suggested having it delivery to a base camp on Antarctica that Faycal may be stopping off at on his trek to the South Pole. Regular mail service to camps is available this time of the year, so there would be no problem with having a flag awaiting his arrival. I'm sure he mapped out the expedition so that he wouldn't be carrying ALL his supplies from the get-go, stopping at at least one base camp in route. I live in Cape Town and will print a flag for the man and bring it to him. Just give me a design and size/specifications and I can go ask around for quotes etc. EDIT : Those who have been to Cape Town will know that NOTHING happens on Sundays, but I will be on it first thing Monday morning keep you guys updated.

thanks. They will not be open on Sundays (it's almost midnight on Saturday here) but the malls around here have to be open on Sundays, so I'll try them first. I'm not sure what material they will have available but it's probably going to be T-shirt quality. The rings, I'll have to try and fix on it myself.
Any ideas of designs will be very helpful
If the expenses are not insane, I will be happy to pay for them myself, no worries.
