Love this project.

Do we have any climbers in our community who can plant a flag at the top of Mt. Everest?  Or divers willing to submerge to the bottom of the Mariana Trench?

Or on the fence at Fort Knox.

Mariana trench is easy, just drop a flag that sinks Smiley
Grabbing a picture might be tough though Smiley

I can only imagine how hard this is...

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

Due to a knee injury, Faysal Hanneche had to cut the trip short to the South Pole, thus no Bitcoin flag will be planted.

http://transantarctic.wordpress.com/

Here's to hoping that Faysal has a speedy recovery.

Yes. I have received some pictures from Faysal and also a bitcoin transaction from the Antarctica:

Now to find some pizza for him in Cape Town, South Africa.

My apologies! I read several posts on his blog, and I falsely assumed he didn't make it to the pole. This is epic!

He did not. Unfortunately. This is "only" from Antarctica.

@Faysal -- we have a few good orthopedic surgeons over here in Minnesota.  You can crash at my place if need be Smiley

I urge a more permanent resettlement. As an incentive I'll provide you with a lifetime supply of Ayn Rand eBooks.

Now that's just mean. Content aside, her writing style is just so, very.... bad. Anyone who'd give a supply of Ayn Rand books, should be obligated to also provide a suicide pill for when the reader can't take it any more.

Bounty is already in place for the next leg of Bitcoin's epic journey: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=433842

Sadly, I'm still seeking a fellow Bitcoiner that's attending the Super Bowl next Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday, predicated upon the weather.

Good news! Faysal just called me from Antarctica. He said that he would reach the South Pole tomorrow or the day after. I expect him to be able to complete a transaction then. His expedition can be followed here:
