How does it even work? I am lost here
Someone needs to make an infographic so that it's easier to understand.
It really is quite simple.
As per by theymos' instructions:
Just put the highest-order 10 bits of each number into a grid in this configuration:
Then run Conway's Game of Life on the cells. If the cells never stop moving even after infinite steps, then you advance to the next rank.
Given that your numbers are currently:
That gives you the following grid:
Which stabilises to the following pattern with two infinite oscillators on the right:
Therefore, you will rank up on Tuesday provided none of your numbers change.
Simple.
Can you do mine? I want to know how it looks on the image (it obviously won't be an infinite loop - it'll just be interesting to find it out).
no legendary memebers complain only lower ranks are punished this is just the rich getting richer why can he do this
I know why this one was. If a legendary complained about the merit system on their own, they'd get shouted down as an account farmer wouldn't they (or at least accused of it)?
Still waiting for some hours more to elapse to see if this is playing the fool on "April fool's". This is more confusing and will breed far more threads than the merit system is currently doing.
Merit was just a single word but there are 6 different words that members would seek clarification separately even when they understand it/them.
I really hope it stays. Not the system itself, keep it as activity and merit, but keep the other number there anyway (for interest).
I like my politeness scores, I'm a good Briton.
Somewhere, at 80,000 feet over the shores of Indonesia and headed east, there is a joke that has sailed over the heads of millions.
It sailed over me for a good couple of minutes before I realised the date (thought it was the 31
st - computer's a bit dead).
We'll find out in 3 hours whether it was a spoof or not anyways (most likely is though).
I'm certain my scores keep changing
