Yes, I think there should be a section in the forum dedicated to Masternodes, the same way we do have a section for Mining. Because I think masternodes will be huge in crypto in the very near future, a great way to earn passive income without the hassle of mining (although you still need to set up a machine to run them).

I totally agree. Are you running any Masternodes?

Away from Masternodes, most of them are scams, attracting you with high returns initially, but after a few days, their prices may drop by 100 times soon.

I agree there are coins that are scams, but there are many Masternode coins that are good projects like Innova, Qbic, Zcoin, Pivx, and many more.

Who here is interested in masternodes? Do you think there should be a section in this forum about masternodes and staking?

I wanna learn more about masternodes and staking. Like how to choose a good coin to stake, what's the basis of others in choosing such coins. I wanna know the community's opinion as well. Say, if they are successful, if they earn more than the bills they are paying monthly, and such. I hope those knowledgeable can share their views and opinions here.

I also am interested in masternodes but I think the current altcoin discussion section is enough for us to discuss about it. After all, it is also an altcoin right? Masternodes having different section would make information about it easier to find but I think it shouldn't have it's own section, because it is seldomly being mentioned by users here on altcoin discussion (when compared to other alts).

I think doing a lot of research into the dev team, community, whitepaper, and road map, are all more important aspects of choosing a good staking/masternode coin than let's say ROI because you have to by a large collateral of coins to start earning more coins.

Here's a good website that has almost all of the Masternode coins currently available: masternodes.online

You can also check out setupmasternodes.com if you want to learn or need guidance on setting up a Masternode.

No. There are multiple Masternode projects trying to accomplish something other than what DASH is trying to do like syscoin, qbic, zcoin, blocknet, and more.

Yes, both staking and masternodes deserve their own spot here.  I have been an advocate of staking coins for a long time now and masternodes are something I am just now getting in to.

so those have accomplished masternodes without using any of the dash code?

They're not just forks of DASH if that's what you're asking.

The majority of them are using DASH as the basic thing. Remember dash is the first masternode coin and pivx was following it to be the second masternode token after dash but a lot of people were calling it as dash fork coin.
You should see the fact that has already happened. Ethereum has so many copycats project that has used smartcontract basic code.

I mean yeah, I'm sure they've taken some ideas from the DASH code, but, for example, Syscoin is trying to create a decentralized marketplace. That's completely different from what DASH is trying to accomplish.
