Title says all. Is the STM7007 capable of profitable SHA256 mining or other coin mining? I know Memorycoin needs AES, but I'm still somewhat of a noob  Wink

Some info is here: http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/mmc/FM143/CL1814/SC1537/PF252558

Oddly enough, I don't see very many pictures of the actual physical chip. Somewhat concerning but I think it might have a bit hope in the mining area.

The datasheet(s) at the link you've provided do not contain enough information to answer your questions.

I have realized that when I first posted it but the datasheets I have been able to find appear scarce in necessary information.
I've supplied the best I could find in the links below

I think you should come to grips with the fact that off-the-shelf commodity hardware of ANY sort is not going to mine bitcoin ever again in any meaningful capacity with the advent of dedicated bitcoin mining ASIC hardware and stop looking. Dedicated hardware is always going to be billions of times faster and more efficient (without exaggeration).

I was already aware of that ( thanks for helping out on my previous question :-) from a few posts ago, but considering the STM7007 has the ability to performing other cryptographic functions I was just curious if it had any correlations to other altcoins. If it doesn't, then I guess I'll drop my hope of off-the-shelf commodity hardware for now....

( looking forward to the SHA3 hardware implementations. From what I've heard, Virginia Tech has already fabricated a few but it looks more like proof of concept then something ready to hit full on manufacturing )
