It is because people are afraid to invest on unknown coins. They don't want to risk on a coin that might be lost or will become useless as time goes by. Losing value means losing investments. Bitcoin has been known to  drop many times and people see it as a natural occurences unlike when an unknown coin drops in value,  it would certainly mean a loss of investments.

There should be news like, some country accepting the bitcoin and making all the exchangers within the country completely legal. People can buy the BTC over the counter as well as they can use it to buy products and services within that country. The same news which was published earlier in the 2017 and then how the prices were spiked was noticed by everyone. We just need bigger countries like USA or UK to accept this major change and then you will see how people will put loads of money into it and thus making huge changes in the bitcoins value. Thats really possible because it has happened earlier.

Yes its right, holding it would be a great action we can do to help bitcoin recover. I know many people were trying to sell their bitcoins thinking that it would be the better thing to do than waiting in vain. I think being an investor in this business should be patient enough to achieve what they wanted to have.

The most influential factor for restoring bitcoin is the return of investor and whale confidence in bitcoin after a few weeks is always hit by a negative news catastrophe about either a crypto or a closing crypto exchange service, when they come back to believe in bitcoin they will go in. In my opinion bitcoin can't see an increase in its value based on just news. The time for fomo has ended, and those who bought bitcoin based on it's price are now selling. Those will not buy again just because the lightning network is here. Institutional investors still didn't entered the market, and we still have a lot of margin to grow, but those guys don't invest based on fomo.

They will wait for regulation to be complete, and they will of course wait for the LN to get stable. We know that it's already running in the mainnet, but it's still in a beta phase, so I don't see big money coming in for a beta product. Once it gets stable, then we might see some solutions appearing, and money will probably start entering the markets again.

Fake news and fud isn't the problem here, but solely the decreased demand. If we look at how strong the demand was last year, and put that against the demand that we experience this year, then it's obviously not able to sustain +$10,000 levels. Hype demand is several leagues above standard/legit demand, and that's exactly what we experience right now. It's better to see the price come back down, because if the price can't sustain +$10,000 levels, and maybe not even the $8000 level, the market simply isn't worth that value. Later on we will see the price go up, but we need to see Bitcoin reflect that in terms of progression, and LN will be a good step forward.

Acceptance of BTC as one of the payment options by most online stores such as Amazon and eBay will likely affect BTC price to be on a bullish run again. There are plenty of good news recently about corporations starting to use blockchain in healthcare, logistics, etc. but BTC price is still on sideways movement. Most likely, these corporations are very much interested in the technology behind BTC but, who knows, they could be bagging BTC discreetly as well because of its attractive low price.

The lightning network is not as attractive as it was before.

When it was a trending topic, network fees were over $20 each one of them. Why do we need LN right now? Fees are less than $0,20 for each transaction.

- Positive press/media attention, so new investors come into the market
- Technology improvements such as lightning
- Removal of FUD and weak hands from the market to kerp the price stable

News cannot affect the market for long time. So, it the rise in price is for nay news, it won’t last long. Market always acts keeping Demand and Supply in balance. So, I think Demand for the coin will make the price high, not any news.

If many people who invest on it and they do a panic selling, for sure the value of bitcoin was going down or it will decrease again. purchases are done continuously will make Bitcoin prices rise,

I think if most contries will call bitcoin (and alts) as a real currency - it will open a market to big players, they will lift the capitalization dramaticly and bitcoin should definatelly go up!
