Every coin will have their chance to be better than the others someday.
Related to this question, I'm not really sure that the Bitcoin cash will overtake the place shortly, but I cannot also guarantee or predict what will happen in 5-10 years later. It can be changing surprisingly.
Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash is a good investment for long term. However, Bitcoin is more trusted than others and the value is very high.

As long as the coin is on the top 5 in the coinmarketcap and the volume and price is increasing they will always have a potential and a big threat to Bitcoin's supremacy, so far Bitcoincash is in fourth place so it has a pretty good chance to catch up with Bitcoin but beating it I don't think so.

I think it might happen if people from all over the world use bitcoin cash rather than bitcoin. But it will not happen immediately. It takes a long process if you want to replace bitcoin. it's interesting to see when bitcoin cash competes with bitcoin but to take place of bitcoin, I don't think so even if bitcoin cash in the top five coinmarketcap lists. bitcoin has a big community and I think bitcoin cash have the same thing like bitcoin but bitcoin cash is difficult to take place of bitcoin unless there is something big crash that might happen with bitcoin or bitcoin is changing the function as an adjust the price for all coins and the list is changed to a new list. but it will need a long time to compete with bitcoin to replace the bitcoin position in the coinmarketcap.

I'm sure cash will never replace the BTC. Bitcoin has a very long history and a large community. Yes, there are frictions, but I don't think that bitcoin fans  will move because of this to the side of evil (bitcoin cash). cash is  fork and evaluated for me as speculative asset for traders.
