I have an unconfirmed transaction from over a year ago. Part of the transaction was an accidental double-spend attempt - leaving the rest in limbo. Anyone know how I can delete this transaction and get access to the BTC again?

*edit: It included a 0.0005 transaction fee

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

gettxoutsetinfo returns statistics about the unspent transaction output database.
gettxout returns information about a specific unspent transaction output.

uh,  make a backup copy of the old wallet, get your private key, remove it, then rescan or reindex or whatever the entire blockchain.  then when that's done, add your key back?

Issue resolved - but a question remains...

What I did was open a backup of my wallet with blockchain.info. It still showed my balance at zero... so I exported that blockchain wallet to Multibit, which did show a balance - so sent that balance to another system, yay!

Now, I have the same wallet keys and transaction history being displayed in all MultiBit, Blockchain, and Bitcoin-QT... can that be an issue? Do I need to move everything back to Bitcoin-QT (which is still showing that unconfirmed transaction)?
