The investment, announced on Monday, came as part of a $40 million funding round, the largest in the Atlanta-based company’s nearly seven-year history. It also constituted the first time Menlo has acquired a stake in a cryptocurrency-related startup.

It would've been better news to see an alternative to Bitpay getting an injection of funds. Bitpay and Coinbase combined have far, far too much influence and both of them have done things that have not been beneficial to Bitcoin itself.

Business is of course business, but some of their moves have fucking stunk and have crossed the line to actively malicious.
